The child ound the device in a feld o the Colane Road on Saturday aternoon and carried it home beore the alarm was raised. It is not believed that the boy was hurt in the shocking incident. Police said the fnd was due to be examined yesterday by  Army technica l ofcers. DUP MLA Stephen Moutray said the actions o those who discarded the weapon could have proved “atal”. 10-ye-old nds ‘gun’ Unionist doubts over SF sincerity UNIONISTS last night gave a lukewarm response to a senior republican’s public call or a rec- onciliation process.  Addressing an Easter com- memoration in west Belast yes- terday, Sinn Fein chairman De- clan Kearney claimed unionists and republicans should become “partners in reconciliation”. However, both the DUP and UUP questioned the sincerity o the overtures. Mr Kearney – who recently indicated republicans should apologise or the IRA’s armed campaign – also challenged the assembled crowd at Milltown Cemetery to “listen careully” to the diverse voices rom within the wider unionist and Protes- tant community. “Those voices rom that com- munity which are committed to engagement and making com- mon purpose based upon an ac- ceptance o our shared human- ity,” he said. “Voices which recognise the importance o taking our peace and political processes into a new uture. There are indeed new possibilities to be explored, with imagination, generosity, new lan- guage, and new thinking. Ulster will now face Edinburgh in the last four at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium on April 28.
