selected poem and creativity of your reasons.
This essay explains the poem by William Shakespeares that I like the most. The sonnet
that I like the most is sonnet 97. What a great beginning to a great sonnet. This sonnet,
understood quite well in the first quatrain, showed a few difficulties throughout the second and
third quatrains. This is obviously dedicated to a loved one, more specifically a woman who
William Shakespeare loved at that period of time. This sonnet explains the difficulties that a
person might encounter emotionally when he/she separated with his/her loved one or in case of
the absence of the loved one. The sonnet suggests that when someone is apart from the beloved
one, they would feel so unpleasant, disturbing. Whatever they get them self into doesnt seem
right at the moment. All the works that they have been doing ended up miserably for them. They
tend not to have the urge/drive to do anything with the absence of the beloved one.
In the first quatrain, the speaker portrayed that all that he is seeing is all dark. It suggest
that they beloved one being the light of his life and her absence darken his world. The speaker
exclaims that if youre not with me, its like winter to me, feeling cool and freeze. This
exaggerates how much a man/woman misses one another when they endure a separation from
one another. The image of winter, symbolizing both physical and emotional "freezings," unites
the sonnet, which begins and ends with the poet being alone.

The second quatrain however, the poet says that even though in reality the season
autumn, he sees that as summer. Autumn is where the flowers bloom and the trees bear more
fruits and it is a warm season. A season that all nourished but for the separated soul, it feels like
summer throughout the year. For example, autumn is characterized as "teeming" where it means
bountiful with richness of the harvest. But "teeming" also means "pregnant," so that although
trees are bearing fruit, nevertheless the poet feels barren because he and the youth are separated.
The anticipation of the speaker to be father become uncertainty of his partner is away.
In the last couplet, the speaker says that birds may sing when the beloved is gone, but it is
with so dull a cheer: that the leaves listening become fearful that winter is upon them. The bird
seems to be mute for the period of the beloved absence.
The uses of seasons as the metaphor of time for the passage are functioned as a kind of
delusional indication of how deeply the speaker misses the company of the beloved. The uses of
winter season also showed that he doesnt feel happy and winter season doesnt evoke the
cheerful moods for the absence of sunshine. Winters are associated with sadness where it is dark,
gloomy and cold all the time.
This could be the best poem to describe the feeling of a person who has been separated
with his loved one and that is the reason I find this sonnet very impressive to me.
