Wouldn't it be wonderful to be in a place where everyone is free
to be Jewish -- and celebrates it…
Where 5,000 of our closest friends [and potential friends] come
together for song, study and prayer…
And have it be only as far away as Boston?
Well... .…….
Biennial is coming to Boston next month. Are you signed up?
I am happy to authorize the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund to help
any TBH member who wants to go.
Come join us!
B'shalom,
Rabbi G.

Vayera —— Genesis 18:1-22:24 —The fourth reading from the book of Genesis is named Vayera .)וירא(It means “And he
appeared” because the first story describes how the LORD appeared to Abraham one day as he sat outside his tent. Sec-
tion Vayera continues with the series of tests of faith for Abraham, concluding in one great and final trial.
Chayei Sarah —— Genesis 23:1-25:18 —This portion of the Torah is filled with romance and sorrow. It tells the story of how
Abraham mourned his wife after her passing, and how he procured a wife for his son Isaac. At the end of this portion, Abraham is
laid to rest beside his beloved wife.
Toldot — Genesis 25:19-28:9 — Toldot tells us the story of the birth of Jacob and Esau and their struggle for the birthright and
blessing of their father, Isaac. We also learn about Isaac’s trials and difficulties in the land of Canaan. The portion concludes with
Jacob’s deception of Isaac in order to procure the family blessing.
Vayetze — Genesis 28:10-32:2 — This portion tells the story of Jacob’s flight from his brother Esau, his vision at Bethel, his
employment with his uncle Laban and his marriage to the two sisters, Rachel and Leah. Jacob’s double marriage results in a baby-
bearing contest that gives him eleven sons. At the end of the portion, Jacob leaves Laban and returns to the land of Canaan, but not
before Laban tries to stop him.

Temple Beth Hillel will be hosting the annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Ser-
vice on Monday November 20 at 7:00 pm.
All local congregations have been invited. The interfaith service will consist
of spiritual leaders from a wide variety of congregations leading different
portions of the Thanksgiving Service.
Thanksgiving is the beginning of the holiday season with Chanukah, and
Christmas just weeks away. These holidays focus on religion. Thanksgiving focuses on the bless-
ing of the harvest. Thanksgiving is celebrated throughout the United States by almost all religious
and spiritual organizations. This is a great opportunity to come, share, celebrate, learn, and grow
by experiencing a diverse variety of prayer and culture. By doing so we have the opportunity of
witnessing how similar we all are and celebrate diversity.
All are welcome. Hope you can join us.
I have started designing
our next congregational
Israel trip.
We expect it to be Octo-
ber/November 2018.
Our trips are customized
according to the partici-
pants, so knowing who is
interested early would be an advantage.
If you are interested in traveling to Israel with
us please let me know.
Thank You,
Mindy Glickman
