CINDERELLA grew up inside Megaride, a huge ship that has been anchored in the Port of Naples for more than 15 years. Her father, a rich ship owner and scientist, has died, taking to the grave the technological secrets of the ship and his dream of bringing the port back to life. From then on, the little girl grows up in the shadow of her evil stepmother and her six wicked daughters. The city is in despair and as a last hope, the family turn to Salvatore Lo Guisto, ‘o Re (the King), an ambitious drug dealer who, with the stepmother’s blessing, is promised the hand of the as yet unaware Cenerentola in return for transforming the Port of Naples into a money-laundering capital. The ship, infested with the holographic ghosts of forgotten technologies and stories, becomes the setting of the entire sequence of events and highlights the age-old dispute between the misery of present ambitions and the nobility of past ideals. The futures of little Cenerentola and the poor city of Naples hang by a single, frayed thread.

ALESSANDRO RAK - Director, designer, animator.In 2014 he directed his first feature film, L’Arte della Felicità. Produced by Mad Entertainment, the movie opened as Special Event the Settimana della Critica of the 70th Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica di Venezia, winning the Arca Cinema Giovani prize and the FEDIC Menzione Speciale as Miglior Film Italiano a Venezia, the Migliore Opera Prima prize at the 2013 Raindance Film Festival in London, the Anime 2014 – International Animation Film Festival of Bruxelles Premio del Pubblico, the Ciak d’Oro 2014 Bello & Invisibile, the 2014 Expotoons Premio come Miglior Film in Buenos Aires and the prestigious recognition as Best European Animated Film at the 2014 European Film Awards. Gatta Cenerentola is his second feature film.

IVAN CAPPIELLO - Director, 3D artist, animator.He began his career in 1998 as a cartoonist and illustrator collaborating with the main Italian publishing companies (Sergio Bonelli Editore/Star Comics). In 2010 he directs the TV special Il piccolo Sansereno e Il Mistero dell’Uovo di Virgilio, produced by Mad. Still with MAD, he participated in the creation of Alessandro Rak’s praised animated feature film L’Arte della Felicità as assistant director and 3D supervisor. The technical and artistic experimentations in his works for MAD earned him an invite to be the Guest Speaker at he Blender Conference. He is an active member of the Open Source community. Gatta Cenerentola is his first experience as director for a feature film.

MARINO GUARNIERI - Director, animator, illustrator.After working as a graphic designer, experimenting

with all forms of expression and communication for the past 20 years, he has finally

discovered his true passion: animation. Assistant director, 2D supervisor and animation editor for the feature film L’Arte della Felicità. Winner of the 2014 EFA for Best European Animated Film. He teaches Digital Animation at the Italian school of Comix, for which he directed the promotional commercial Chi Sogna

Disegna and the short film Mezzanotte di Segni. He is also member of the board

of ASIFA Italia (Associazione Internazionale Film di Animazione).

Gatta Cenerentola is his first feature film as director.

DARIO SANSONE - Director, iIllustrator, musician.He has worked in visual arts since 1997, collaborating with several advertising and publishing agencies. In 2013 he was assistant director and story boarder for the feature animated film L’Arte della Felicità, winner of 2014 EFA for Best European Animated Film. For this movie he wrote the track ‘A Malia, nominated in the Best Song category at Nastri D’Argento and David di Donatello. He is the leader of the Neapolitan folk band Foja. In 2017 the members of Foja appear as themselves in La Parrucchiera, film directed by David di Donatello winner Stefano Incerti. Contributing to the soundtrack with 6 songs, he earns the Migliore Colonna Sonora prize, awarded by the Social World Film Festival for the song Nunn’è cosa.
