Learning and Support News It’s a very busy time in Learning Support and there is a

lot to report this week.

SPEECH STUDENTS:

Firstly thank you to all the families who returned

permission and information notes regarding our visiting

speech therapy students from ACU. The girls have

finished screening this semester and will return for

structured lessons in August.

SLSO STUDENT:

We are also appreciative for another student. Her

name is Kirsten Pollicina. Kirsten is studying to be a

student learning support officer at TAFE. 100 hours of

in school time needs to be completed. Therefore she

shall be working between KB and KH each Wednesday.

NCCD:

I am currently in the process of entering the students I

work with into the National Consistent Collection of

Data. This is a departmental data collection that every

school must submit regarding students with disabilities.

Should you have any queries regarding this collection

and the information that is gathered please don’t

hesitate to ask.

SPEECH AND OT:

Every Thursday we still have our in school OT “Emelia”

and every second Friday our in school Speech therapist

“Nam” is also available. If any of you are interested in

speech or occupational therapy for your child, please

don’t hesitate to come and have a chat. Please be

aware that this is a privately run service available

during school hours and that there is a fee involved.

PARENTS OF STAGE 3:

Finally, the LST has organised a parent seminar for all

mums and dads of stage 3 students. The dates for

these seminars are the 7 and 21 June at 7pm.

Maria Sarina is the social psychologist we have

organised to come and speak. She comes to us with a

wealth of knowledge and I would highly recommend

these evenings! They are a must! You should have all

received your invitations by now. Please don’t forget to

RSVP as supper shall be provided and we require them

for catering needs.

DO NOT MISS THIS! I have been working with stage 3

for the last few weeks on a well-being and social unit

and the information that will be provided by Maria is

crucial and extremely valuable.

The P&C’s major fundraiser this year is the School Run4Fun Colour Explosion so we do ask for your support.

The more money we raise the more we can provide for the students through vital school projects. The School Run4Fun Colour Explosion will be held at school on Wednesday 4 July.

Colour Powder The colour powder used in our event has been sourced direct from India, the home of Holi Powder. It is made of high quality corn starch and permitted food colours. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, skin safe and environmentally friendly.

How Does My Child Fundraise? Students will receive a Sponsorship Form with instructions on how to raise money and order prizes. Students obtain donations in cash using the Sponsorship Form together with online fundraising.

You can easily register for online fundraising. It’s the easiest way to help your child raise money and to reach your fundraising goal sooner.

Students who raise as little as $10 or more will receive an incentive prize for their efforts. But why not aim higher? You have the option to choose up to five (5) prizes and this will set your fundraising goal. Family and friends are your greatest supporters, so ask them first for your support. You will reach your fundraising goal in no time.

Notes and Sponsorship forms will be sent home in the next week. Thank you in advance for your participation, and get

ready for a BLAST OF COLOUR! Happy fundraising! P&C Fundraising Committee
