Welcome to Week 4 of Term 4. HSC Marking Mr Englert is away again this week as a senior marker. Mr Englert has again been selected to be one of four senior markers at the Wagga Marking Centre. Mr Englert will have a group of English teachers from across the state under his care as he trains them to mark at the standard set for the exam. He will then lead the group through 7 days of marking Standard English essays. We are lucky enough to have Mr Englert bring this advice back to our students, both at APCS and our partner schools. It is one of the main reasons we had one of our Standard English students ranked inside the top 1% of the state in last year’s HSC exam. What’s on this Week: Monday Executive meeting after school. Tuesday Kindergarten Transition continues. Friday 2011 Kindergarten and Year 7 students parent meetings with Mr Morse and Mr Dehlsen. ABC Concert

Kindergarten enjoyed their trip to the ABC Concert last week. They were excited to see the big tennis racquet at Barellan and bopped around to the familiar tunes at the Play School Concert at Leeton. A big thank-you goes to Sam Dart for helping with transport. Mrs O’Hare Sport News

APCS Swimming 2010/2011 Thank you to all those parents who have completed and returned the swimming notes over the last few weeks. With the weather starting to warm up, many students are eagerly asking when we may start swimming for sport. Mr Radnidge and I have started discussing activities to conduct during sport, but we just need all the notes to be returned before students can attend. In order to attend the pool this season all students will need to submit a permission note signed by the parent/guardian with the school requiring the following information:-

- written permission for your child/children/ward(s) to use the pool;

- an indication of the student’s swimming ability

To consider commencing swimming for sport this week requires returning the attached permission note to the school by

Wednesday this week (students from whom we have not received a note).

Mr Angel and Mr Radnidge RAP Girls’ Cricket Report On Monday 25th October 2010 the RAP Girls Cricket team travelled to Oaklands to take on Deniliquin High School. Sophie (APCS) and Emily (BCS) were sent out to open the batting, a job that NO one in this team ever wants to take on. Sophie got off to a good start with 4 runs until getting out to a catch at mid on. Emily made a run before being bowled by a good ball. This brought Grace (HCS) and Jen (HCS) to the crease who had a great partnership of 61 before Jen got bowled for 13. Paige (OCS) saw us through to drinks before getting out for 2. Bethanie (APCS) and Grace held the crease looking fairly settled and making some nice shots. Grace was retired with 5 overs to go on 48. Joesphine (BCS) and Alice (BCS) hung around for a while at the crease but couldn’t get a run away before getting out. Daisy-Mae (OCS) scored a quick fire 3 to match Bethanie before running out of overs. We finished with 6/133 feeling quite confident heading out into the field. Grace, Sophie, Alice(BCS) and Bethanie bowled very tight for the first 12 overs keeping the score at 3/32. Laura (BCS) was brought in before the break to split up the long Deni partnership and took a great wicket with a nice piece of keeping by Emily. Daisy and Emily then came in to clean up the tail. Daisy picked up a wicket on the first ball with a nice catch from Jen. Emily, not to be out done, left the keeping duties to Sophie to take 2 much needed wickets, one being Deni’s top scorer Bec (38) with Paige (OCS) taking a great high heavy hit catch. Bowling figures: Grace 1-6 (6), Sophie 0-14 (6), Alice 1-20 (6), Bethanie 1-27 (6). The Deni girls batted very well towards the end of the inning desperately trying to get runs on the
