TERM 3 DATES

School resumes for Term 3 for all students on Monday 20th July and concludes on Friday 25th September 2020.

CAR PARKING Please do not park in the Service NSW (formerly RTA) car park. This car park is for their customers only. Thanks for you cooperation.

NUDE FOOD DAY EVERY MONDAY

Every Monday is Nude Food Day. On Nude Food Day, our aim is for student lunch boxes to be wrapper free. The purpose of this is to raise awareness of ways we can reduce waste/packaging and also to keep the healthy food profile high. We want our students to be informed about how we can be stewards of God’s creation. This is a practical way to show that each of us CAN make a difference to the amount of waste created. Thank you for your support.

SCHOOL BANKING

School banking will resume in Term 3. School banking days are Thursdays.

ICAS Thank you for all the participants who have entered into this year's ICAS Assessments. The assessments will take place during Term 3 at school. Mrs Belinda Butterfield ICAS Coordinator

SPORT

Term 3 Sport At the moment, there are still no sporting events occurring due to COVID-19. We understand that students are eager to participate in sporting events, and we wish to support this. Early next term we'll be running a ‘Mini Carnival’ for all students. During this event, students will be able to participate in a variety of activities for fun, and earn points for their house. More information will be provided at the beginning of Term 3.

MUSIC Instrumental Lessons We have made it through another term and despite the change in routine and structure, everyone has been very supportive and on board with the instrumental lessons, particularly the amazing tutors! Thank you to those parents who have returned the note about continuing next semester. Please make sure you send your decision through as tutors need to know numbers for next semester. I will send a new announcement out at the start of next term with the timetable and information for continuing students. Thank you to those students who have stuck with their instruments! You are gaining skills that you will have for a lifetime. Have a great holiday and we shall see you next term!

Miss Stephanie Cirillo Music Coordinator

Online Safety

Online safety is a growing concern for parents of young children as they have more and more access to technology and the internet. There are 3 main categories of risk to children when online – Content: include things that they might find upsetting, disgusting or otherwise uncomfortableContact: children coming into contact with people they don’t know or with adults posing as children online.Conduct: children acting in ways that might hurt others, or being the victim of this kind of behaviour.Practical ways to keep your child safe include; a family media plan, using child-friendly search engines, reviews, privacy settings and parental controls. When you take some practical internet safety precautions, you protect your child from risky or inappropriate content and activities. And your child gets to make the most of their online experience, with its potential for learning, exploring, being creative and connecting with others. It’s important to go online with your child, role-model safe internet use, and talk to your child about online behaviour. An easy conversation you can have with your child around online safety is to give them these 5 tips (and keep a copy of this list near devices); 1. Don’t give out personal information such as home address, school name or contact details2. Never send pictures to strangers, or people you have not met in real life.3. Keep passwords private from everyone but parents and carers 4. Don’t download anything without permission 5. Tell an adult if you receive a mean or strange message

If you are after some more information and tips on talking about Internet safety with your kids, check out https://www.esafety.gov.au/kids. It is an interactive information tool designed for children.
