March AUGUST NEWSLETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT... We just completed another successful Pro-am week. Congratulations to all of the winners including: Brady Calkins (Pro), Bryan Lemkau (gross am), Michael Sullivan (net am), Jon Trasamar (Pro/Jr + Pro/lady), Trina Brewer (gross am) and Diane Mulloy (net am). The winners hail from Washington, Iowa, Minnesota and South Dakota. The weather was outstanding for the Pro-am! The course was superb! Waren and his staff had the course in great shape. The rough was luscious after 15 inches of rain in 6 weeks. Scott, as usual did a great job in organization and running the tournament. Adessa and Kasey had everything running smoothly on the inside of the clubhouse. Please thank the staff for their hard work in putting on this enormous week of events. Also, a huge thanks to Bob Haar and the Pro-am committee and their endless hours of planning and commitment. The Hillcrest Board of Directors will be sending out a Survey Monkey to the golfing membership in the coming days. We would like your feedback. We have a couple of options that we are considering for improving our course. One option is to improve the pond on holes 12 and 13 similar to what we did on hole 8 last winter. A second option is to change the grass in our fairways to make them more playable. Further information on these two options is in the survey. A third option is to fill in the blank with what you would like to see happen on the course. We have no plans for any improvements at this time. We are looking for feedback from the membership as to what they feel is important going forward. School will be starting soon. The course will have even better access. Fall golf is my personal favorite time to play. Remember, Hillcrest doesn't close after Labor Day. Get out and enjoy our beautiful course. FROM THE GOLF COURSE...
The annual Pro-Am is officially in the books and for us it is on to repairing damage from the growing season and preparing the course for the 2019 season. Aerification will occupy much of our time for the next 90 days and during that time we will put some finishing touches around 8 pond, remove a couple of trees, and fix some penal areas around 8 green. One last note worth mentioning is how nice it is to see all of your staff embrace the importance and tradition of the Pro-Am. Their efforts and attitude is one of the many reasons that make your tournament a player favorite on the Dakotas Tour. On to number 46.

Hello Hillcrest! Big thanks to everyone who attended and helped with the 45th Annual Pro-Am Tournament. It was a great success! Look forward to the return of the Tomahawk Ribeye near the end of the month! As always if you want an item on the menu just let me know!!

Results of the 45th Annual Hillcrest Pro-Am:
Brady Calkins won the professional division for a check of $21,000.
Matt Erlandson won the 5th Flight
Steve Weiland was the low gross senior champion and the First
Flight senior champion.
Bob Haar was the Second Flight senior champion and the net senior
champion
Thank you to Bob Haar and the pro/am committee for all of their
hard work. Thank you to all the volunteers for helping during the
event. Thank you to all the sponsors of the pro/am and a thank you
for everyone that had played in the 45th Annual Hillcrest
Invitational.

August pro shop hours are Monday’s noon-7:00 p.m., Tuesday-
Sunday 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. the pro shop will close early if the
weather is inclement.
