Evans Division Commander I am very thankful that in my 23 years of service with this Department only two of our officers died in the line of duty. While that was two officers, too many, we all know that there are inherent risks that come with our calling as police officers. Both of these officers died at the hands of violent criminals attempting to escape justice, but all too often, officers die needlessly as a result of unsafe practices. How many times have we failed to wear our body armor, failed to wear our seat belt, driven at unsafe speeds, texted while driving, directed traffic without reflective vests, or failed to thoroughly search a subject? These are situations that we can easily control, yet each year we hear of these very things resulting in officer deaths across the nation. During the upcoming Mandatory In-service training, you will be introduced to a concept called Below 100. This is a program that the Department's senior leadership has adopted to increase awareness about the things that contribute to unnecessary officer deaths. We sincerely hope that each and every employee embraces the principles that the Under 100 instructors will teach at in-service. Although in-service starts in eleven days, let's make a commitment to work safer RIGHT NOW! Each and every day, I ask that you come to work with the mindset that we will deliberately mitigate any factors that might lead to the death or serious injury of ourselves or one of our fellow officers. Thank you for everything that you do to make this City a better place to live. Let's Start Rolling Back the Clock – NOW! Wear your Belt. Wear your vest. Watch your speed. WIN – What's Important Now? Hard Hitting Detective Work!

What is it you do for the Homicide Unit? I investigate assaults, shootings, unattended deaths and homicides. What is your must rewarding experience since you joined the Detective Division? There are a few different cases. When I worked in the Child Crisis Unit, the David Abston multiple-victim molestation case involved several decades of abuse, but culminated into a predator being sent to prison. The most recent would be the Hicks Park double homicide which was a great coordination of work by everyone involved, and being able to be part of that group is what makes this job the best.

What is the strangest request you've ever had from a citizen? There have been a few! One in particular, involved holding a boa constrictor, which being a rookie I think I agreed to! The silly years…

What has been the most interesting case you've had? I think the strangest case in the past I have worked involved a child molester who worked as a clown, complete with red nose. This reaffirmed my dislike of clowns, if nothing else!

On Monday, January 23th, Child Crisis Detectives were notified of an individual by the name of George Feugate who the parents believed was molesting their two young daughters. During the forensic interview with the girls, they stated the incidents occurred when their father would leave them in his care.

On Wednesday, January 25th, Child Crisis Detective Swanson obtained a warrant and George Feugate was arrested. During his interview he stated, "if the girls said I did it then I must have. I've blocked it out and don't remember". He goes on to say, "the girls don't lie. I know I'm going to prison forever". Currently, Feugate is being held on a $200,000 bond in the Tulsa County Jail.
