From the Head of Junior School

Last week we held Transition Morning for the Junior School. This allowed for new students entering

the School to join current students and begin their orientation to St Hilda’s School. Current students

also had the opportunity to meet their 2017 class mates and this created excitement and positive

feelings towards moving to a new class and learning the expectations required for 2017.

‘Year 6 Transition Morning was great! Getting the experience to be moving up to Year 6 is great I

can't wait to have so much responsibility!’ Ivy Rosemeyer – Year 5

‘I really enjoyed Transition Morning and had lots of fun because we were able to work in a team with

new people allowing us to make friends and get used to the new people in our class. I especially

enjoyed the new teachers who were very enthusiastic and helpful to us without making us stressed or

worried. Overall, I really enjoyed the morning and wish it could have gone for the whole day!’

‘Transition day for Year 6 went for the whole day on Thursday 10 November. It was such an amazing

day with many Middle School activities involved but it was also a very important day too because first

impressions did count! Overall, we had a fantastic time in Middle School and I am sure the Year 6

cohort are very excited for the year ahead.’ Tess Lakis – Year 6

‘I enjoyed Transition Morning because we got to feel how it would be next year. Year 4 going into

Year 5 switched between all the class rooms. We did fun activities and we have three new girls in our

class. Overall I think it was Fantastic’. Kate Taylor – Year 4

‘I think that having Transition Day is very good because we can experience what it will be like when

we move up year levels. I loved meeting the new girls and seeing who was in my class and I loved all

the teachers too. It was so much fun and was a great experience! I can't wait to move up grades to

Year 5!’ Shivani Whala – Year 4
