Dear Parents

Once the 8.30am outdoor programme finishes,

the children will gather in the classroom for Circle Time

(and they do sit in a nice big circle!).

During this time, we will

Teachers will use this time to discuss relevant topics

(e.g. Brushing of teeth, importance of wearing seat belts, sharing of toys, etc).

And the children have the opportunity to share their thoughts or ask questions.

This 15-minute activity allows the children to develop physically (e.g. singing with body movements),

socially and emotionally (e.g. taking turns to speak) and even cognitively (e.g. using maths to find out the

number of children in each class).

Fun & Movement

Mass Activity

A perimeter was drawn with boxes placed in the middle.

Divided into 4 colour teams, the children took turns to pick a ball, stand behind the perimeter,

aim and throw the balls into the boxes.


Increasing the level of difficulty, a basket with a smaller opening was used.


All the balls were then poured out and everyone was tasked to collect their team’s ball and head back to their

teams.

They surprised the teachers as everyone was able to collect all their team’s balls and line up in a neat row.

Well done!


Individual classes

The Love 1 & 2 children continued to practise their jumping (open, close, open, close).

The Joy & Peace children attempted to hop consecutively as well.


Adding another element to jumping – jumping for distance.


They would then sprint to the ending point, and hit the tambourine!

The Joy & Peace children had longer distance to sprint and were challenged to jump up to hit the tambourine.

It’s Cooking Time … All about Potatoes

We learned a new name for Potatoes …

So it’s Cheesey Spuds

for snack time …

Whoohoo !!!!

Grated mozzarella cheese and boiled potatoes … waiting to be peeled …

First a demo of how to peel the potato … yes, and it gets a little sticky but to press on …….


Lots of patience & perseverance

And we peeled all our potatoes

A new action word learned – MASH

And mash we did till the potatoes

were nicely mashed and done!


Into the communal tray for baking ….

Topping the mashed potatoes with the grated mozzarella cheese

“We’re in the big kitchen!”

The cheese is melting and browning …..


Mouth-watering!

And a little goofing with the chewy cheese!

We love to see all the happy faces enjoying every morsel of the

cheesey spuds …

They wiped up every bit with their many seconds

The Love children was learning to be as fast as the fastest animal- The Cheetah!

Joy & Peace children held hands and raised their arms to make arches.

Starting with one, to weave in and out the arches around the circle,

more would be added to the line each time the song was repeated.
