Dear Parents
Once the 8.30am outdoor programme finishes,
the children will gather in the classroom for Circle Time
(and they do sit in a nice big circle!).
During this time, we will

Teachers will use this time to discuss relevant topics
(e.g. Brushing of teeth, importance of wearing seat belts, sharing of toys, etc).
And the children have the opportunity to share their thoughts or ask questions.
This 15-minute activity allows the children to develop physically (e.g. singing with body movements),
socially and emotionally (e.g. taking turns to speak) and even cognitively (e.g. using maths to find out the
number of children in each class).

Maya showed her friends the stencil she used to create an artwork of a bird. She named the bird “Shana”.

Mass Activity
A perimeter was drawn with boxes placed in the middle.
Divided into 4 colour teams, the children took turns to pick a ball, stand behind the perimeter,
aim and throw the balls into the boxes.

Increasing the level of difficulty, a basket with a smaller opening was used.

All the balls were then poured out and everyone was tasked to collect their team’s ball and head back to their
teams.
They surprised the teachers as everyone was able to collect all their team’s balls and line up in a neat row.

Individual classes
The Love 1 & 2 children continued to practise their jumping (open, close, open, close).
The Joy & Peace children attempted to hop consecutively as well.

They would then sprint to the ending point, and hit the tambourine!
The Joy & Peace children had longer distance to sprint and were challenged to jump up to hit the tambourine.
