You are invited to participate in the arts as a member of the Friends of the Fine Arts Society during the 2013-2014 academic year. Our students and faculty
have created dozens of choral music, theatre, visual arts, and instrumental music opportunities—all they need now is YOU, the audience!
Our arts programs are dynamic, daring, and a delight to the senses! Your support will enhance the quality of productions and provide scholarship assistance to our
talented students in the liberal arts.
The Friends of the Fine Arts foster life-long learning and encourage participation in the arts. Our members include local individuals and businesses in Jamestown,
as well as alumni and friends throughout the country in places like Apache Junction, Arizona; Urbana, Illinois; Manhattan Beach, California; Laurel,
Maryland; and Greeley, Colorado. Join us as we “provide our students opportunities to develop their understanding of acting, music, and art on a
worldly and academic stage.”
Please peruse this pamphlet, and discover how you may participate in the arts as a 2013-2014 member of the Friends of the Fine Arts Society!

Music by Richard RodgersBook and Lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein IIRodgers’ and Hammerstein’s Carousel, with a story that is a reflection of life itself, is said to have been the composer’s favorite score. In 1945 on Broadway, it introduced theatre-goers to the characters Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan, and songs that are now classics in musical theatre: “You’ll Never Walk Alone”; “A Real Nice Clambake”; “June is Bustin’ Out All Over”; “If I Loved You”; and many more. Carousel has enjoyed many revivals, and was named by Time Magazine as the Best Musical of the 20th Century.
Thursday through Saturday,October 24, 25, & 26 at 7:30 p.m.Reiland Fine Arts Center’s DeNault Auditorium
A satirical comedy that originally appeared on Broadway in 1930, Once in a Lifetime follows the misadventures and misfortunes of a failed vaudeville trio of characters. Get ready to laugh as they try to “break in” to the motion picture industry, replete with stereotypical characters and situational comedy!
