According to the Google-owned video sharing site, in 2011 there were over one trillion playbacks of YouTube videos. This averages out, according to the site, to 140 views for “every person on the planet.” Also according to the site the video for teenage singer Rebecca Black's "Friday" was the most viewed YouTube video globally.

Sure enough, Black’s “Friday” has truly made YouTube avid viewers into avid haters. If you’re one of those people who viewed her video, comments were like pouring in every second. Aside from that, she reached millions of views in just a couple of days!

The teenage singer, according to Google's Zeitgeist report released December 15, also accounted for the "fastest rising search term" of 2011. Rebecca Black first came to fame in early March when a leaked version of her vanity single "Friday" went viral on YouTube. Dubbed by some critics as "the worst song ever," "Friday" sparked numerous Twitter trends and parodies and let to widespread media coverage, says a report from Yahoo! News.
