Hazoor Anwar (aa) delivered the Friday Sermon from Masjid Mubarak from Tilford, UK and continued to narrate about Hazrat Zaid bin Haritha (ra). Hazoor mentioned various such battles of Muslims wherein the Holy Prophet (sa) had appointed Hazrat Zaid bin Haritha (ra) as the Ameer or Head of the Islamic army.

Hazoor Anwar (aa) mentioned that the pretext of all these smaller battles in Arabia was that whenever the Holy Prophet (sa) received credible reports of enemies planning to attack Muslims, he would swiftly try to stop them from attacking. For example, many business delegations used to travel from Mecca to Syria. During their journey, they would meet different tribes of Arabia and would encourage them to rise against Muslims and attack them.

Hazoor Anwar mentioned about the battle of Muta in detail for which he appointed Hazrat Zaid (ra) as the head of the army. He instructed that if he is martyred, then Hazrat Jaffar (ra) will be the Ameer and after him Hazrat Abdullah bin Rawaha (ra). All three fought bravely and were martyred one by one. Afterwards, Hazrat Khalid bin Waleed (ra) took command of Muslims and guided them back to Medina successfully.

The Holy Prophet (sa) prayed for the forgiveness of martyrs and expressed grief. Once, when a companion was surprised to see the Holy Prophet (sa) crying over these martyrs, the Holy Prophet (sa) replied that this is due to my love for my beloved. After the demise of Hazrat Zaid, the Holy Prophet (sa) treated his son, Hazrat Usama, with much sympathy and affection.

To avenge the battle of Muta, the Holy Prophet (sa) appointed Hazrat Usama, son of Hazrat Zaid, as its commander. He was only 17 years of age. When a few individuals objected to Hazrat Usama being the commander due to his young age, the Holy Prophet (sa) expressed anger over this and said that you also objected to the appointment of his father as commander. By God, both Zaid and his son Usama are well deserving of being commanders. You should pray for Usama as he is one of the best people among you.

Before the departure of this army, the Holy Prophet (sa) passed away. Seeing that the conditions of Arabia were dangerous after the demise of the Holy Prophet (sa), some people suggested to the first Khalifa, Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra), not to send this delegation. However, Hazrat Abu Bakr (ra) refused and said: By God, had I thought that wild predatory animals would make off with me, I would still send out Usamah’s army in accordance with what the Messenger of Allah commanded Usamah to do.

May Allah continue to elevate the status of Hazrat Zaid bin Haritha (ra) and his son Hazrat Usama bin Zaid (ra)!

ETTIQUETES OF ATTENDING JALSA SALANA

Jalsa Salana Canada 2019 will take place from July 5 – 7th at the International Center in

Mississauga. Constantly pray for the success of the Jalsa. Cooperate with volunteers on duty to

help you park in appropriate spaces. Notify security about any suspicious activity and persons.

Every Ahmadi should always remain vigilant with regards to security matters.

Greet everyone with a smile and be courteous to fellow attendees of the Jalsa. Show respect to

your elders and act in a kind manner to those younger than you. Make sure that the children as

well as teenagers are at their best behavior.

Do not waste time in idle gossip but spend the time in remembering Allah. Inside the Jalsa

Gāh, instead of sitting in groups with the friends, sit in the designated rows by filling front

first rows first and avoid making unnecessary talk. Also refrain from unnecessarily leaving the

Jalsa Gāh and roaming around. In this regard, cooperate with the volunteers for Discipline to

keep the sanctity of Jalsa environment intact

Make proper QUEUES for food as well as for using the washrooms. Give priority to seniors and

demonstrate patience and dignity.

Men should not crowd near the women's entrance. Families should fix their meeting points

beforehand to avoid crowding in these areas.

As per the Islamic Teachings, we should not clap for Guest remarks but instead slogans should

be raised. Also, we should not shake hands with the opposite gender. Kindly keep this in

mind at all times in our daily lives including greeting guests outside of the community

attending Jalsa Salana

We should also keep in mind that all of us, especially the duty holders are in a way engaged in

silent Tabligh (propagation of Islam). Our words and actions hold so much weight, that it can

easily be a cause of attraction towards Jama‘at for someone, and similarly can also be a cause

of someone distancing themselves from it.

Some Important Features of Jalsa Salana Canada

The first Adhan on Friday will be called at 12:10 PM which will be followed by the repeat of

the Friday Sermon of Huzoor Anwar (aa) at 12:30 PM. This will be followed by the Second

Adhan and our local Friday Sermon. Beside the Friday Sermon, two addresses of Huzoor Anwar

(aa) will be shown in the 2nd and 3rd sessions on Saturday.

Our Jalsa will conclude with the historical arrangement of live address of Huzoor Anwar (aa)

from Jalsa Salana Germany which will be broadcast live in the Jalsa Gah starting with Ba’it

ceremony on 9:45 AM on Sunday. Please be on time to be part of this remarkable spiritual

experience.

Chair Pass Office Time (Men Only) will be Baitul Ansar 100 Ahmadiyya Ave. from June 29 to July

1, 2019 from (2 PM to 7 PM) and July 2 to July 4, 2019 from (7 PM to 10 PM). During the Jalsa

Salana inside the main entrance of Jalsagah (Hall 5) and at back of the Hall entrance. There will

be no chair pass for Ladies. Chairs will be available upon request to volunteers on duty.

Translation will be available in English, Urdu, Arabic, French and Bangla. Headsets at the cost of

$5 can be purchased. FM 87.9 will be broadcasting Jalsa Salana also.

All Jamā‘at Members are requested to kindly bring their Jamā‘at ID Cards (AIMS). For printing

new cards, the office hours at Aiwan e Tahir are 10 AM to 7 PM daily until Thursday July 4th

Similar to last 2 years, there will be no Drop-off Zone in front of the Men and Ladies entrances

to Jalsa Gah and shuttle service has been made available from Parking lots.

A valid government issued handicap permit is required to park on the reserved spots for

handicap parking.

CANADA DAY

By the Grace of Allah, on July 1, 2019 we will be celebrating Canada Day in all our mosques

across Canada. As per the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and the Holy Prophet (may Peace and

Blessings of Allah be upon him), it is our religious duty to have love for our country and exhibit

this love in various ways.

The Holy Qur’an is a complete guidance for all of mankind in all parts of life. The Holy Qur’an

states in Surah Ar-Rahman:

سان جزاء ہل ح سان ال ال ح ال

“The reward for goodness is nothing but goodness.” (55:61)

Similarly, The Holy Prophet (sa) has taught us a very important lesson in this regard as well. He

(sa) instructed: “Love of one’s country is part of faith!”

In view of the above Islamic teachings, we as Ahmadi Muslims should show our gratitude for

the reception they have given to each Ahmadi who came to Canada. We should be grateful to

Canada for the many opportunities that it has provided us with. We can show our gratitude by

praying for Canada, its peace and prosperity and that Canada becomes and remains the best

country in the world!

To show our love for Canada, we should take part and celebrate Canada day and other such

events. May Allah enable us all to become good citizens and enable us to play a positive role in

the betterment of Canada and other citizens. Amen!
