    ReadingIsaiah 40:28-31Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creatorof the ends of the earth. God does not faint or grow weary; Gods understanding isunsearchable. God gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Evenyouths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait forthe Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shalrun and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.

    HymnIll Fly AwaySome glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll fly away;

    To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away

    Chorus: I'll fly away, Oh Glory, I'll fly away; (in the morning)When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

    When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away;Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

    Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away;

    To a land where joy shall never end, I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

    ReadingMark 5:1-9Rev. Terri MillerThey came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes. And when Jesushad stepped out of the boat, immediately a man out of the tombs with an unclean spiritmet him. He lived among the tombs; and no one could restrain him any more, even witha chain; for he had often been restrained with shackles and chains, but the chains hewrenched apart, and the shackles he broke in pieces; and no one had the strength tosubdue him. Night and day among the tombs and on the mountains he was alwayshowling and bruising himself with stones. When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ranand bowed down before him; and he shouted at the top of his voice, What have you to

    do with me, Jesus, Child of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.For he had said to him, Come out of the man, you unclean spirit! Then Jesus askedhim, What is your name? He replied, My name is Legion; for we are many.

    Ending Our Sand RitualRev. Elder Darlene Garner and Rev. Elder Lillie BrockDarlene: Five days ago the leaders of MCC and the Fellowship processed down thiscenter aisle as we began the worship in General Conference 24.

    Lillie: Each leader carried a carafe of sand, and the six carafes filled with earthwere intended to represent the six liveable continents from which we all cameto this place for the purpose of worship and growth.Darlene: Throughout the week, more sand has been poured in. Some of it in times ofjoyous celebration. Some of it in moments when we considered our deepest pains andour greatest fears.Lillie: But tonight, we acknowledge and bless all those things. We bless everymoment, every grain of sand, that has formed the essence of MCC GeneralConference 24.Darlene: And so we now mix these sands together, weaving all these experiencestogether, removing the layers of sand and allowing the layer of joy to touch the layer of

    pain.Lillie: Allowing the layer of love to touch the continents from all around theworld.Darlene: Allowing the prayers and the worship that have washed over these sands forfive days to now wash over one another, as Monday touches Thursday.Lillie: As the young adult service touches the contemplative service.Darlene: As opening worship touches closing worship.Lillie: Each of these grains of sand tells a story. The story of all that we haveseen and heard here.Darlene: Of all that we have learned here.Lillie: Of how we have been changed here.

    Darlene: And so we now release this sand into this world.Lillie: We release this conference into the world.Darlene: God, we pray you release us back into the world.Lillie: As you go from this place tonight, these sands have been taken andplaced into small vials, so that you can take a small part of this week with you.Darlene: Take these sands and allow them to bring you back here. Each time you seethem, remember this place.Lillie: Remember the story.Darlene: Remember the singing.Lillie: Remember the dancing.

    Communion SongsOn Eagles Wings

    You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord, who abide in Gods shadow for life

    Say to the Lord, "My Refuge, My Rock in Whom I trust"

    (Refrain) And I will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawnMake you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of my hand

    The snare of the fowler will never capture you, and famine will bring you no fearUnder my wings your refuge, my faithfulness your shield

    You need not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,Though thousands fall about you, near you it shall not come.
