Events for grade three students are being held at all eight elementary schools in Yorkton. The kickoff will be at MC Knoll and St. Michael’s Schools, Tuesday, May 14, 9:30 am. Events at each school will include a bicycle rodeo, bike safety presentations and colouring contests. Two winners of the contest will receive a new bike provided by Canadian Tire. Bicycle registration is mandatory in Yorkton with the $5 registration fee waived for this week only. Bicycles may be registered at the Gallagher Centre Kiosk. Arena & Sport Field Employees in this stream will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Kinsmen Arena, sport fields, and recreation facilities. The Kinsmen Arena operates from mid August to mid April. Employees will assist in the arena ice maintenance program along with ensuring a safe working environment. Employees will also work closely with user groups and provide first class customer service through facility operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:•Installation and maintenance of the ice •Custodial duties for the building (Kinsmen Arena)•Building maintenance including minor carpentry and plumbing tasksIn the summer season, responsibilities will include:•Maintain sporting fields and recreation facilities (ball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts)• Participate in other areas of the Department including pest control, refuse collection and grass cutting
