Carnival Week Edition!

Notes: 1. All students received two books of raffle tickets and those tickets have already been coming in. We are excited to see all of the support for our school and the carnival with the sale of the raffle tickets. Any student who has sold at least 5 books of raffle tickets will be entered into a drawing for a free armband. Every five books sold, gets your name entered once in the drawing, so the more you sell the more chances you have. We will continue drawing names leading up to the carnival. Stay tuned for your chance to win! 2. This week we sent out the link for all family members to sign up to work the carnival. Please remember that this is the largest fundraiser we have for our school, and it would not be possible without your support. Additionally, this event reaches our entire Ocala/Marion County Community. There is nothing else like this available for families. We have the opportunity to showcase BT and how truly amazing we are! Carnival Updates:

• Carnival is almost here! Carnival trucks will begin arriving this weekend.

While we hope carnival won’t be too disruptive to our normal traffic

patterns, please be flexible, patient, and respectful while in carlines next

week.

• Wristband voucher sales continue. You may purchase your voucher for a

discounted price of $20 now through October 19th at 3:30 p.m. Please use

the order form at the end of the FF.

• Raffle ticket sales have begun. Please see the flyer for details on the student

raffle sales contest. Students can request additional tickets in the front office

and all money should be turned in to their homeroom teacher.

• Volunteer Shifts: We will be locking the site on Friday, 10/13, so you will

not be able to make changes after that point. Additionally, anyone not signed up by October 13th, will be assigned a shift to work. Anyone who DOES NOT show for their assigned shift, will be assessed a $ 250.00 fine.

• We still have several vacant shifts. Please prayerfully consider taking a second shift to help make our carnival a great success. We currently have openings on Saturday and Sunday. Please refer to Signup.com to choose your shift or contact Mrs. D’Ambrosio in the Primary School Office. Thank you!

1. Trinity Catholic High School will be here to speak to all 8th graders after Mass on Wednesday, November 1st from 9:15-9:45. We would like to invite all 8th grade parents to join us for Mass that day and then stay for the meeting. 2. Please find information below regarding the Ocala/Marion County Help the Homeless initiative. 3. There is no School on Friday, October 20. The next Used Uniform Sale is scheduled for Sunday, November 5 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The deadline for uniforms to be turned in for credit is Tuesday, October 31 by 3:30 to the main office. Hurricane Maria Fundraisers

Thank you to those who contributed to the Kiss the Pig and/or Bake Sale Fundraisers. Due to your generosity, our school was able to raise $ 734.02 for those in Puerto Rico who have been affected by Hurricane Maria.

Red Ribbon Week is Coming!

Box Tops

Our newest Box Top collection is underway. Help your class

earn an out of uniform day by collecting Box Tops. Goals are

500 per class (400 for Kindergarten). The deadline for this

collection is Monday, October 23.

We also want to congratulate 2A for reaching their Box Top Goal. Great Job!!

Carline Notes Elementary: Cars should utilize both lanes in the morning and in the afternoon.

Middle School: The carline should be single file in the mornings. Please DO NOT drop students off

either in front of the gym or at the crossroads in front of the outside basketball courts.

ALWAYS drive forward to the picnic tables. This is for the safety of our students.

You have time! Tardies do not start until 7:55. Thank You! Both lanes will be open in the afternoon.

GIFTS

Speech, Language & Reading Specialists will be available for screenings at Blessed Trinity on October 13th during the

school day for children that struggle with speech, reading, hearing, language and/or auditory processing. Students must

be pre-registered with payment (cash only) by Wednesday, October 11th. Questions....Call Carey Jones @352 694-

4438. Please return form and payment in an envelope with your child's name and GIFTS screening on the outside to your

Drop Everything And Lead

The Leader in Me process is designed to help our school community develop well-rounded children who know their strengths. The Leader in Me helps our students unleash their potential to lead their own lives and to influence others. This year we will begin every Monday morning with a schoolwide designated time to Drop Everything and Lead. We encourage you to ask your child what they are learning about Leadership! As the children understand and use the 7 Habits, research shows they will become more motivated, organized, engaged, and will take ownership of their learning.

There will be a free basketball clinic open run by Coach Christiano on October 23rd and 24th from 3:05-6:30. Help Wanted

1. Used Uniforms

2. Blessed Trinity Church

Blessed Trinity is seeking a qualified individual to join the parish maintenance staff. Applicant should have some knowledge and experience in the following areas: minor electrical, minor plumbing, HVAC, painting, trimming and mowing, general repairs. This is a full-time position – 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. All employees of the Diocese of Orlando are required to successfully complete fingerprinting and background screening. 3. Brother’s Keeper

Brother’s Keeper Outreach Ministry is accepting applications for our Thrift Store Operations Coordinator. This is a full-time position. Scheduled work hours are Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm with occasional work on Saturdays. Applicants should be able to satisfactorily complete the following duties;

a. Interface with all clients, customers, volunteers, and staff in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner.

b. Drive our box truck to pick up food, furniture, and other donations. Must be able to lift 50 pounds or more.

c. Oversee vehicle maintenance. d. Oversee building maintenance and cleaning according to daily/weekly checklists. e. Perform operational duties according to daily schedule. f. Assist volunteers in store as needed. g. Assist Executive Director with special projects.

October Edge Meeting

6:30-9:00 in the Community Center All middle school students, join us in the Community Center as we gain a deeper understanding of our true-self and how to remove the Masks we hide behind. Discussions and activities will explore how we can be who we are created to be and not hide our gifts and talents. There will be games, activities, great discussion, and many friends. To celebrate the beginning of Fall, if you are able to contribute, please bring a Fall/Spooky snack or dessert to share. The meeting will formally start promptly at 6:35, so please be sure to be there and signed in before that time.

The night is jammed packed, activity filled and sure to be a lot of fun! We look forward to seeing all of you in the Community Center!

Join your Edge friend's Thursday Night at the Carnival to enjoy dinner, rides, and tons of fun! Edge will meet at 5:30 at the picnic tables behind the Community Center (across from the basketball courts). For $20 you will get an unlimited rides armband and dinner (hotdog/hamburger, French fries, and a drink).

Parents - We will have Edge adults wandering throughout the carnival campus from 5:30 until 9:30, however, we will not have small chaperone group supervision. We recommend you make arrangements to have an adult chaperone join your child's group of friends for the evening. Everyone joining Edge for the Edge Arm Band Dinner package should wear their Edge shirts (any Edge shirt) for easy identification in the crowd.

Edge Arm Band/Dinner Packages can only be purchased through Edge. Bring your $20

payment to the meeting on 10/14 or send your $20 along with your name and email address clearly

written in an envelope marked "Edge" to the Church Office (not school office) by 10/13. Packages will be available until 10/14. Armband and Dinner Vouchers will be distributed the night of the Carnival. These discount packages are available for Middle Schoolers Only, sorry no family packages available, but you may obtain additional armbands through Edge as well (just not the dinner voucher for non-middle schoolers).

Media Challenge

If you are on social media, post a picture in the Facebook Edge page or on Instagram of you displaying one of your God given talents. Must tag Edge in the post. Posts must be up by 3:00 on Saturday 10/14 and must be present at the meeting that Saturday to win. Winner will be drawn from all posts submitted.

NEW Altar Servers Training

Mr. Westgate and the Altar Servers ministry is training new altar servers each Wednesday in October (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th) , from 5:30-7:00pm in the church. Space is limited to 12 students and attendance is required for each of the 4 training sessions. Altar serving is open to any Catholic youth that is in 5th grade-12th grade. Your serving commitment is 1-2 masses per 8 week schedule cycle and additional masses during the busier holiday times. This is a wonderful ministry focused on learning the Mass in detail, while serving at the Altar of Our Lord. We look forward to all those youth ready to share their time and talent with our ministry. We will have a short parent/student meeting on Wednesday, October 4th at 5:30pm in the church, immediately followed by the first training session. Please email btaltarservers@gmail.com to register and reserve your spot for training or if you have any questions.

New Edge Shirt?

The newly designed Edge shirts have arrived, following Hurricane delays. If you pre-ordered and didn’t pick up last Friday, the shirts will also be available at the meeting on 10/14. We did order some extra shirts, which limited sizes will be available for purchase at the meeting on 10/14.

Soup Kitchen Volunteers Needed

Our soup kitchen is in need of more volunteers.
