WIC Thank you of the Week:

Important Voter Registration Update! We have been informed of a law change that goes into effect on January 1, 2019, that impacts the NVRA agency registration process. HF516 changed the minimum age for registering to vote from 17 ½ years old to 17 years old. Agency personnel will be required to offer a voter registration opportunity to clients that are 17 years old or older. This change also required that the voter registration application that you use to be modified. New Voter Registration forms are now available at the ISU Distribution Center for you to order. You will need to continue to offer voter registration to all women 17 1/2 years of age or older at certification appointments or when an address change is reported and use the current forms you have on hand until December 31, 2018. Effective January 1, 2019 your agency will need to begin using the new voter registration forms and discard all old forms you have at all of your clinic locations. Staff will also need to begin to offer voter registration to all women 17 years of age or older at certification appointments or when an address change is reported.
