Name: Miss Hudson Class: Singapore

Did you always want to be a teacher? I never thought about being a teacher until I worked at Beech Hill as a Teaching Assistant. I really enjoyed helping children to reach their full potential and watching them flourish, this is what made me finally decide to train as a teacher. I am so happy I have qualified and I'm back at Beech Hill with my very own class. Team Singapore! If you could travel anywhere, where would you go? I have always wanted to go to Thailand. It has a lot of history, beautiful landmarks, busy cities, and relaxing beaches. Thailand has a mix of everything and there seems to be something for everybody to do. I would love to see The Grand Palace in Bangkok which is over 200 years old! They also have delicious food that I'd like to try, like a traditional Thai Green Curry. Who inspires you and why? Malala Yousafzai inspires me. She is a young activist from Pakistan that speaks out and champions education for girls around the world. Despite challenges she has faced; she has been determined to continue her important work. I really admire her hard work, perseverance, and kindness towards others. Favourites Film - Finding Nemo

Book - Shadow Forest

Subject - Art

Food - Italian

Drink - Orange and Mango juice

Season - Spring

The power of reading in children Developing empathy – when we read a book, we put ourselves in the story in front of us. Gaining deeper understanding - a book can take us anywhere: to another city, to a different country, or even to an alternative world. Building stronger relationships - If a parent reads with a child on a regular basis, then they will undoubtedly develop a stronger relationship with them. Furthermore, it provides children with feelings of attention, love, and reassurance which is key for nurturing and wellbeing.

The importance of washing your hands

Step 1: Wet hands with water

Step 2: Apply soap to wet hands

Step 3: Scrub all surfaces of the hands - for

at least 20 seconds.

Step 4: Rinse thoroughly with water

Step 5: Dry hands

You should wash your hands for at least 20-30 seconds. An easy way to time it is by singing the full happy birthday song, twice.

From next week, if you require a paper copy of the newsletter please fill in the slip below and return to the school office. If you have more than one child please put the name of your youngest child. Thank you.
