Newsletter No. 6
Dear Grange Community We reach the end of another full week of learning and growing.
A highlight of this week for me was receiving a batch of pupil writing from Darwin class. I was struck by the impressive penmanship displayed by Orla and I am working my way through reading all the pieces sent to me. Here are some of my favourite excerpts from the Grange Darwin Class Pupil Writings (so far!): Rhea: “I felt amazed by Space.” Maha: “…It felt so real, I could imagine…I looked around and I saw a spaceship and I was an astronaut…I just wish I could go back. What an amazing happy 3rd of October…” Diana-Elena: “My class got the opportunity to see what it’s like in space…” I am confident that I will find more ‘favourites’ as I read through the writing but what stood out for me was: Children appreciating learning and learning with their hearts as much as with their minds. Learning in this way, sets a child up for a future of life-long learning and growing which is a quality that brings with it so many opportunities through life and also makes life more fulfilling and more fun. This must be an objective that all of us adults (Grange Staff or Grange Parents and Carers), seek for our chil-dren. The writing is in response to the learning and that fills me with hope and excitement for all of us members of the Grange community. Mr Kerbel Headteacher
