The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay FreedomBand was founded in1978 by Jon Sims at the height of Anita Bryant’s anti-gay crusade. The world’s firstopenly gay music organization, the Band inspired the formation of lesbian and gaybands, choruses and performing troupes around the world.
Today, the Band performs in free community concerts,civic events and parades year round. And each December,the Band presents theDance-Along Nutcracker® — thewacky holiday extravaganza for kids of all ages.See below for more details!
