Oral Stage(Weaning)
Normal:The infant's primary source
of interaction occurs throughthe mouth, so the rooting
and sucking reflex isespecially important. The
mouth is vital for eating, andthe infant derives pleasure
from oral stimulationthrough gratifying activities.
Because the infant isentirely dependent upon
caretakers (who areresponsible for feeding the
child), the infant alsodevelops a sense of trustand comfort through this
oral stimulation.
-The patient was breastfedfor only 2 months bybecause her mother had toattend her business.
-No other caretaker was
mentioned in replacement ofher mother.
-So for this stage, trust wasnot established andconfusion may havedeveloped because hermother who is supposed tobe her primary caretakerwas not there to attend toher needs as an infant.
UNSATISFIED
Adult manifestations:- She only has a few friendsand these relationships tendto end in a short amount oftime.

Normal:-Focus of pleasure in thisstage is on eliminating andretaining feces. Throughsocietys pressure, mainlyvia parents, the child has to
learn to control analstimulation. In terms ofpersonality, after effects ofan anal fixation during thisstage can result in anobsession with cleanliness,perfection, and control(anal retentive). On theopposite end of thespectrum, they maybecome messy anddisorganized (anal
expulsive).
-Toilet training was donewhen she was two yearsold and she was describedas alert and obedient to herparents.
-She was able to developsphincter control and selfcontrol during these years.No anal fixation wasdeveloped such as OCD or
anal retentive or expulsivecharacter.

Preschool (3-5years)
Phallic Stage(Oedipal Conflict)
Normal:-The pleasure zoneswitches to the genitals.Girls develop unconscious
sexual desires for theirmother. Because of this,she becomes rivals withher mother and sees himas competition for thefathers affection. Duringthis time, girls also developa fear that their mother willpunish them for these

feelings, such as bycastrating them. This groupof feelings is known asOedipus Complex (afterthe Greek Mythology figurewho accidentally killed his
father and married hismother).
-The patient is observed tobe close to her father andnot to her mother. At hervery young age, she hasalready experienced beingshouted and hit violently byher own mother whenevershe had temper tantrums.-She does not exhibit
interest in socializing. Shewas observed to havedifficulty of playing alongwith other children.
UNSATISFIED
Adult manifestations:- There was a developmentof electra complex and wasnot resolved until her lateryears: the patient has
strong connection with hisfather and she loves himdeeply. On the other hand,she is not close with hermother.
School Age (6-11years)

- The libido interests aresuppressed. Thedevelopment of the egoand superego contribute tothis period of calm. Thestage begins around thetime that children enter intoschool and become moreconcerned with peer

relationships, hobbies andother interests. This is alsoa time of exploration inwhich the sexual energy isstill present, but it isdirected into other areas
such as intellectual pursuitsand social interactions.
- During this stage, thepatient had one or twofriends, but theserelationships tend toterminate because of hermood swings.- On the other hand, shehad interest in schoolactivities, thus, promoting
intellectual growth anddevelopment.
PARTIALLY SATISFIED
Adolescence (12-18 years)
Prepuberty andAdolescence(HeterosexualRelationship)
Normal:
- The adolescentestablishes relationship withthe opposite sex.
- During this stage, shehad 3 or 4 brief closerelationships with boysthough their relationshipsall ended because theydont understand her.- She also had a boyfriendwhich lasted for two years.
- Therefore, these stagewas appreciated becauseshe somewhat engaged indating and other socialactivities.

Normal:- The final stage ofpsychosexual developmentbegins at the start ofpuberty when sexual urges
are once again awakened.Through the lessonslearned during the previousstages, adolescents directtheir sexual urges ontoopposite sex peers, withthe primary focus ofpleasure is the genital.
- Independence was shownby the patient when shechose a non-high paying
job which is working at aconvenience store insteadof following her sistersadvice to apply to anaccounting firm.- There was no data givenregarding interest inheterosexual relationshipsafter her two-yearrelationship with her ex-boyfriend.
