Descriptions of Homepage Features

1. Logo – the logo links to your homepage

2. Site Name – the name of your website

3. News Slider – Can contain up to 3 slides, each links to a webpage

4. Social Media Icons – change to your accounts by going to Site Contents > Configuration List

5. Search - type in keywords & press ENTER to search this website

6. District Alerts – come from Central Office, automatically update, will disappear if there are no alerts

7. Translator – click & select the language to translate the current page

8. Login – you need to log in to make changes

9. Grad Cap – the graduation cap icon links to the district’s main website

10. Embedded Video – should be a Vimeo video so there are no ads & isn’t blocked from student accounts

11. Featured Image – leave this as is, it links to the ATLAS Parent Portal on every school website

12. Quick Links – there are 4 text links and 2 image links

13. Image Carousel – should have 6-9 images, each will link to a webpage

14. Events – these are Calendar Items that are highlighted. The titles and Read More link to full items.

15. Footer –only change the Home, webmaster email, school address & phone # in the footer. Everything

else should not be changed.

16. District News – comes from Central Office, receive fresh content automatically

17. Announcements – link to full announcements, has expiration dates

18. Calendar – contains links to full calendar items and events

19. Navigation Menu – has 9 level 1 items. Leave level 1 items as is. You can add more level 2 items.

20. SharePoint Ribbon – you’ll see this if you’re logged in.

Note: Chrome users need to refresh the page after logging in, before you can see the SharePoint

Ribbon.
