Bullying & Cyberbullying
What is bullying?
Bullying is defined as making fun of, putting down, or threatening (physically,
verbally or both) another person. Often there is an imbalance of power.
Bullying is done on purpose and is often repeated.
Cyberbullying is willful and repeated harm inflicted through the use of
computers, cell phones, and other electronic devices.
Instant messaging is often used, on computers as well as cell phones.
Who can report bullying or cyberbullying?
Anyone
Snitching vs. Reporting Incidents when you
feel threatened
witness someone else being threatened
when you just know something is wrong

Why you should DO something?
Showing respect for people means accepting their differences and treating
them the way you’d like to be treated. It is important to look out for each other
at school and report bullying right away.
Safety is EVERY students problem. This is YOUR school, and we are all
responsible for making it safe

Advanced Placement
Academy Offers college-bound students an opportunity to experience a concentration of courses that are
designed to mimic the collegiate experience and give students insight into college and career
readiness.
Concentrations: Medicine, General Science, Applied Mathematics, Business, Communications,
Computer Science, Humanities, Performing Arts.
Each concentration has 6 AP classes.
Students must have completed an honors class and maintained a 3.0 during their freshman year OR
obtain teacher recommendations.
Complete an application, maintain a 3.0, Do not receive a “D” or and “F” in any class, pass all
required courses, attend AP Academy events.
Please see Mr. Booth in room 151 for more information.

Summer School
Application Process Your counselor will meet with you to plan your 10th
grade classes and will notify you at that time of summer school course offerings and the course(s) you need to retake.
Summer school applications will be give to you when you come in to select classes.
Summer school this year will be held at:
King, Arlington, Ramona and online through Riverside Virtual. You may chose any campus.
Space is limited to a “first come first served” basis and we will let you know the deadline soon. It is normally in late April.
Students who submit applications late or do not get a spot in summer school may always show up the first day of summer school to see if there are “no-shows”. However, you must have an application already on file.
