Applying professional standards and techniques when itcomes to flower care is vital, floristry skills are not

enough, expert organization, high-quality cleanliness andspecialist flower care all works hand in hand with floraldesign talent. Try this 3 step plan for maximum flower

lasting qualities.

There is a simple 3 step plan to professionalflower care. It’s an insurance policy for florists to

guarantee that flowers and foliage last thelongest possible time for customers.

STEP 1 – SANITATION: There’s nothing worse than the pong of dirty flower buckets, nastyto smell and look at and what’s more harmful to the flowers.Proper sanitation is an integral part of flower care and handling.Bacteria and fungi build up fast in dirty buckets and can penetratethe flower stems. This means the water carrying tubes in thestems become clogged with slime and cause premature wilting.OASIS® Floralife® Cleaner has triple action, it disinfects, cleansand deodorizes. This towering arrangement is a unique way to use an OASIS® Ideal Floral FoamNetted Garland.

A cane construction housed in a Large Tall Glass Cube keeps the Garland stable, and it’s the perfectsolution when tall slender designs are required. The OASIS® Ideal Floral Foam Netted Garland has anet covering to give extra security to the flowers and foliage, plus it can be easily cut to the requiredlength. To make this lofty design follow Daniel’s easy instructions.

Step 1Take two canes the same length as the OASIS®

Ideal Floral Foam Netted Garland and secure thecanes firmly to either side of the floral foam atintervals. Use Pot Tape to bind tightly over thecanes and floral foam to make the Garland rigid.Cover the back and sides of the floral foam withFinland Moss using Mossing Pins to secure.

Step 2Ensure the Finland Moss covers the entireback and sides of the floral foam and coversthe canes leaving a channel of floral foam atthe front for the flowers and foliage. Bind overthe Finland Moss with Metallic Wire for a neatflat appearance. Wet the Garland but do notover soak, as this will make the structure tooheavy.

Step 3Add well-conditioned Conifer andevergreens in random patterns throughoutthe length of the Garland. Remove any pineneedles from the base of the Conifer stemsfor secure insertion into the floral foam. Tosupport the Garland make a tapering canestructure as tall as the Garland by firmlybinding four tall canes at equal distancestogether with three cross supports. Place

the cane support into a heavy Large Tall Glass Cube and fill withchippings or stones for additional weight and security. The Garland willsit safely between the pronged cross supports. Add groups ofPhalaenopsis Orchids and Lotus Heads then finish by gluing in placedried materials or baubles if desired.

• Cut a slither of floral foam from the base of each half sphere so that they sit without rocking.

• When using fresh materials wrap the OASIS® Ideal Floral Foam Sphere bowls with a plastic covering for protection before encasing with wool, and then wet, but do not over soak, the floral foam.
