KNOX, IN - Carl G. Hamilton, 76,died Tuesday, October 22, 2013, atIU Health Starke Hospital, Knox,Indiana. He was born July 1, 1937,in Chicago, Illinois, to the lateDelbert and Florence Hamilton. OnApril 18, 1959, in Chicago, he mar-ried Jan Hamilton.

Mr. Hamilton had been employedby Bethlehem Steel Co. He enjoyedbowling, spending time with hisgrandkids, going to the Moose andworking at the fish fry. Carl was amember of the Knox AmericanLegion, where he was a member ofthe Honor Guard, and also a mem-ber of the Knox Moose Lodge.He is survived by his wife, Jan, two

sons: Denny and Doug (Patty), andone daughter, Debra King, all ofKnox, five grandchildren, thirteengreat grandchildren and one brother,Donald of Knox. He was precededin death by one brother, Norm.

Services were held Sunday,October 27, at Braman & SonMemorial Chapel.

WINAMAC, IN - Earl E. White, 89,died at 12:46pm, Wednesday,October 23, 2013, at IU HealthArnett Hospital, Lafayette, Indiana.He was born May 22, 1924, inBeebee, Arkansas, to the late Elmerand Hazel (Button) White. OnNovember 20, 1943, in Portageville,Missouri, he married WandaBerneda Cross. She diedDecember 13, 1998.

Earl had worked as a farmer andwas a retired sanitation worker forthe Town of Winamac and hadworked in the tree trimming busi-ness for many years. He enjoyedtelling jokes, playing cards anddominos with his daughters andspending time with his grandchil-dren.

He is survived by five daughters:Shirley D. (Joe) Decker, Alice F.(Bobby) Creasy, Brenda S. Craigand Patricia “Sandy” E. Terry, all ofWinamac and Carolyn J. (Stan)Johnson of Talma, Indiana, eightgrandchildren, fourteen great grand-children, one sister, LucilleThompson of Rochester, Indianaand one brother, Elmer White ofMonterey, Indiana. He was preced-ed in death by one infant son, twosisters: Mildred Huffman and IdaDavis and one brother, Eldon White.

Services were held Monday,October 28, at Frain Mortuary, withDavid Broad officiating. Burial wasin the McKinley Memorial GardensCemetery, Winamac. Memorialsmay be given to a charity of thedonor’s choice.

Arrangements were made by FrainMortuary, Winamac.

Barbara was a member of theLaCrosse Methodist Church andhad worked at The Big Wheelrestaurant in Valparaiso, Valparaiso,Indiana.

She is survived by three daugh-ters: Janine Krieger, Denise Shidlerand Sandra Kowalczyk, threegrandchildren and two great grand-children. She was preceded indeath by her husband, Robert E.McAlpin, one son, Terry Alan Hayesand an infant grandson, Justin D.Shidler.

A memorial visitation will be heldWednesday, October 30, at theLaCrosse Methodist Church from12-1pm, with a memorial service fol-lowing.

Wanda had been a nurse. Sheloved spending time with family,traveling, going to church and listen-ing to music. She was a member ofthe Davis Weslyn Church, Hamlet,Indiana and the Ladies Missionarygroup at church.

She is survived by two daughters:Phyllis Lee (Dennis) Martin ofBourbon, Indiana and Doris Gale(John Wayne) Taylor of Cedar Lake,Indiana, one two step sons: Frank(Tammy) Bales of Montgomery,Alabama and Kenny (Rosie) Balesof Kimmel, Indiana, seven grandchil-dren, seven great grandchildren,one brother, Jack (June) Goldingand one sister, Gloria (Bill) Dickson,both of Knox. She is preceded indeath by her first husband, RobertLee Benninghoff and her secondhusband, Howard Bales, one son,Alan Dale Benninghoff, one daugh-ter, Alice Lynn Bradley, one stepdaughter, Norma Hise, one brother,Gene Golding and one sister, WilmaTaylor.

Services were held Monday,October 28, at Braman & SonMemorial Chapel, with Rev. BillDixon officiating. Burial was in theCrown Hill Cemetery, Knox.

Cleo was a former QMA at PilgrimManor, Plymouth, Indiana. She wasa former member of the OregonTownship Advisory Board, havingserved as secretary. Cleo was alsoa member of the American LegionAuxiliary of Hamlet, Indiana andWalkerton.

She is survived by two daughters:Sharon (John) Graybill of LaGrange,Indiana and Carole (Lawrence)Noble of Walkerton, two sons: Jerry(Peggy) of Knox and Ora Jay (Mary)of Walkerton, nine grandchildrenand thirteen great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by herhusband, Fredrick, five sisters andfour brothers.Services were held Friday, October

25, at Rannells Funeral Home,Koontz Lake Chapel, with Rev.Lloyd George officiating. Burial wasin the Grovertown Cemetery,Grovertown, Indiana. Memorial con-tributions may be given to theKoontz Lake Fire Department.

Mr. Martindale was a veteran ofthe US Army, and was a member ofthe Color Guard that served atPresident Dwight D. Eisenhower’sfuneral service. Homer was a truckdriver and had worked in the con-struction industry. He was a mem-ber of the Yorktown Road Church ofChrist, Logansport, Indiana and wasa jack of all trades and enjoyedworking on cars. He also enjoyedgrowing roses.

He is survived by his wife, FredaAnn Martindale, three daughters:Sandy (Dave) Watson of WestLafayette, Indiana, Mary Martindaleand Susan Warkentin, both ofGoshen, Indiana, two sons: JasonMartindale of Warsaw, Indiana andChris (Kristie) Martindale of NorthWebster, Indiana, one step daugh-ter, Shanna N.
