GIFAS is the French aerospace industries association, with more than 260 members, from major prime contractors and system suppliers to small specialist companies.

They cover the full spectrum of skills from the design, development and production of aerospace systems and equipment to maintenance and operation.

Activities cover civil and military aircraft and helicopters , engines, equipments, satellites and launch vehicles .

Manage the Franco-Japanese relations for the SST program.

The GIFAS / JAPAN Committee organized with the METI and the French DGAC, the signature of the “SST Frame Agreement”which was signed in June 2005 at the Paris Air show between GIFAS and SJAC. The agreement has been renewed in June 2011 at Paris Air

Developing industrial relationship between aerospace industries of France and Japan. Since 2004, GIFAS / JAPAN Committee has set-up several exchanges with Japanese industries:

– June 2005: C-ASTEC delegation visited Paris Air Show & French Aerospace Industry.

– December 2007: GIFAS delegation visited Japanese Aerospace Industry.

– July 2009 and June 2010 : Japanese equipment delegation industry visited French Aerospace industry.
