La description d’un personnage FREN300 French Grammar and Composition Spring 2017 10:00-11:50 (32261D in WPH 202) W & F 9:30-10:50 (32263D in VKC 104) T & TH FREN 300 is a creative writing workshop aimed at developing writing and grammar skills in French. Through journals and compositions, posted on the class blog, as well as practice exercises, the course is organized into sections on: - The elaboration of a fictional character -The description of a Parisian “arrondissement” (including the building and the apartments in which the characters will live together) -The writing of a plot -The writing of a detective novel as a final project with other classmates, based on the characters and events developed during the course In parallel, we will study “Coule la Seine” by Fred Vargas, three detective stories taking place in Paris.
