EYE-CATCHING LIFT SHAFTSThis lift is extraordinarily versatile and customers love the aluminium lift shafts that we package with our FreedomLift.

Minimalist anodised aluminium with glass infill panels are • popular where a light well is required

Our composite aluminium panels, available in an • astonishing range of striking colours are suitable for both in and outdoor applications

Glass can be clear, tinted, frosted or milk – all suitable • where a subtle and elegant design is desired

UNIQUE FEATUREThe Immediate Freedom Self-Rescue Button is hidden behind a discrete panel inside the lift cabin. This impressive safety feature is exclusive to Lift Shop and is standard on all FreedomLifts. In the unlikely event that you are trapped, you can lift the lid and lower yourself in total safety to the ground floor, where the door will then unlock and allow you to exit.

This feature is particularly attractive in remote locations, where power reliability may be uncertain.

PROUDLY MADE IN CHINAAccording to Elevatori (a highly respected European elevator magazine) in September 2010, it was noted that “the local Chinese enterprises now can supply products as good as the multi-nationals”. “The publishers also commented that the Chinese lift market is the largest in the world”.

The Freedomlift is assembled in a large, clean, high-quality Chinese factory and our exclusive partner, DNDT, is a leading home elevator manufacturer in China. This lift is extremely versatile and we are very proud to sell the FreedomLift in Australia.

NYLON SHEAVE WHEELThe sheave wheel sits above the hydraulic ram and holds the steel cables. Traditionally these are steel. Steel on steel causes wear and noise. The state of the art, totally safe and properly approved nylon sheave wheel is quiet and gentle on the steel cables. The wheel costs more, but less in the long run. We look ahead.

LIFT SHAFTS

Lifts require a shaft in which to run. The shaft is either built by a builder or supplied by the lift company.

MASONRY SHAFTSConcrete, brick or block shafts are usually built into the home as part of the construction process (190mm thick load bearing walls are common). They are preferred by customers who want the lift to “blend in”. They usually require a bigger total outside shaft footprint due to the thickness of the concrete walls and may be slightly cheaper in a new building situation.

When you place a FreedomLift in a concrete shaft, it is recommended that you paint and render the inside of the shaft on the door opening walls. It is a requirement that this wall be smooth and flat.

ALUMINIUM SHAFTSWhere a sleek and modern style is required for the outside of the lift shaft, the shaft is usually supplied in addition to the lift. The aluminium shafts have a smaller outside footprint due to the thinner metal of the load bearing structure.

Aluminium and glass shafts are extremely popular where a functional light well or architectural effect is desired.

Aluminium shafts are also very quick to install because they are modular, designed to be carried in through a normal door opening, do not require roof removal or crane, and sustain their own loads.

FINISHESStructures (the horizontal and vertical beams)

Select from our standard finishes (see page • 10)In Australia, natural anodised is most • popular, while Americans like the timber effect and in the Middle East and Asia, gold is often chosen. Choice is freedom.

Panels (the fill in bits)Glass (which can be tinted)• Any from our • latest 2011 range of panels (see page 11) including the sensational composite aluminium

Other Considerations Exterior solution is available with a custom • roof on top (upgrade)You may wish to paint the equipment • (upgrade) as it is visible from outside when a glass panel is usedA glass cabin and shaft makes a small lift • feel bigger.

The landing doors, jambs, profiles and shaft structures are all made from aluminium.

The profiles refer to the trim that joins the floors to the walls, the walls to each other and the walls to the ceiling.

The landing doors and jambs are a complete unit and include the “hidden within jamb” self closers as standard. The doors and jambs are supplied and installed by the Lift Shop team.

The structual components of the lift shaft are the horizontal and vertical ladder type structure parts of the shaft. They take the load or weight of the lift.

A selection can be made from the finishes on this page and are applied to the aluminium components.

SAFETY AND SECURITYLift Shop recognises that safety is paramount and has a perfect safety record. We will not use single or triple beam sensors, only full height light rays are the only safe solution for automatic lifts (as per the European directives)

Safety is an invisible feature, like a car airbag, but it is also the most valuable feature.

FreedomLift safety features include:Steel ropes with 40 ton breaking strain •

Over-speed sensing safety gear which automatically and • mechanically engages in the event of a descent that is too quick

Burst valve settings to ensure all descents are controlled•

Battery driven siren•

Independent powered telephone•

Self-rescue and emergency lowering systems•

Active safety circuit which is continuously monitoring the • lift

Full-height light ray protection •

Electrical locks that make it impossible for the lift to travel • when the landing door is not closed

Mechanical locks that make it impossible for the landing • door to open when the lift is not at floor level

Separate battery supply that keeps the light on during • power failure

design and performance Before a lift becomes available to the market it has to pass rigorous qualification criteria and tests and must be design registered with our Australian regulatory authorities.

As a leading international lift product, the FreedomLift easily met or exceeded the requirements of the Australian standard, and is now installed in thousands of locations throughout the world.

The FreedomLift is a proven integrated and complete lift package with a two speed hydraulic drive system. Hydraulics are a common technology and are known to be serviceable, of good value and reliable.

The FreedomLift runs on nylon sliders and rollers ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride on precision engineered guide rails.

IMPACT•ENVIRONMENT

The FreedomLift is low impact.

Space UtilisationShallow pits remove need for deep excavations• Low headrooms fit under normal roof heights• Machinery space reduced to increase living space•

Energy EfficientRuns on single phase 32A power (maximum demand)• Lights that turn off when the lift is not in use•
