You might be thinking that anything that’s this effective must be tough and time consuming. I thought the same thing. It can be really intimidating to try something new in this vast landscape we call cyberspace.
I had heard of the tripwire sales funnel from a colleague named Ryan Diess. I heard him speak about this strategy many times, but despite listening to him share about the massive impact it had on his business, I held off; probably for the same reason you have held off. I assumed it was complex.
However after being in business for three years and feeling it was time for a growth spurt, I decided to give it a shot. And WOW. I wish I had done it from my first year in business. It has changed my company and my bottom line completely. Using this exact strategy, I grew my email list by 2700 people, and made $138,000 from just under $6k in Facebook ads. That is one heck of a profit! The best part is that it was easy to do. I am sharing the exact formula I used to get those results so that you can have that same kind of success.

STEP 1 – CREATE A COMPELLING FACEBOOK AD
This is the exact ad that I ran on Facebook, offering people free photo templates. Here’s why this works:
• We used a viral photo, meaning that it is a photo that most people will be attracted to. (you can download this and all of the other viral photos for your use at www.profitfbads.com)

• We used a compelling headline: “Download your FREE Viral Photo Templates.”
• It solves a major problem. We know that our client’s number one problem is that they aren’t getting enough engagement on Facebook. This is a FREE gift, (and everyone loves “free”) that actually solves their problem.
• We make a bold promise of “10x-‐‑100x more likes, leads and customers.” It’s bold, but it’s true and we stand behind it.
You’ve got to create a fb ad that uses a viral photo, a compelling headline and a promise to solve your client’s biggest problem.
Once they click on that ad, they move on to Step 2 in the funnel.

STEP 2- THE LANDING PAGE
This is a simple page that allows you to deliver on your promise and capture their email address so that they become a part of your database.

You want this page to be clean and simple. As you can see, the photo on our landing page matches the photo in our fb ad. You may also notice that the arrow in the viral photo is pointing directly at the information we want them to see.
My favorite resource for creating landing pages is www.leadpages.net. When the customer clicks “download,” they will be prompted to type their email address in order to receive their free resource. There is nothing else on this page that is clickable. The only action they can take is to leave their email address. And that is exactly how you want it!

STEP 3- THE SALES PAGE

This is your sales page. On this page we are letting them know where their free download is, (in their inbox) and offering additional value in the form of a video training and offering an opportunity to buy a 99% discounted product for only $7! Here’s what’s important about this page:
• The viral photo is repeated again. • Another compelling headline telling them exactly what they are
going to see • We are using the Kaizan LeadPage template here as it shows the
audience that they are on step 2 of 3 • We tie the promise on this page to their free download, in that we
are going to show them how to effectively use their free resource
The most important thing about this step is that you are going to offer them something of great value for just $7.
***It must be something that your audience needs. It must solve a problem for them. We knew our clients wanted profitable Facebook ads, and we knew they wanted a simple step by step system to help them figure it out.
Our call to action is clearly highlighted in a yellow box and we let them know that the offer is a major discount. Link this page to Facebook and invite your audience to comment. Social proof can provide a major boost in credibility and sales. Be sure to comment back! Engaging with your audience is the best way for you to grow your “know, like and trust factor.”

Once they have purchased your valuable offer for just $7, they move onto the next step.
STEP 4- CHECKOUT PAGE Now, your customer is ready to pay. They are excited about the deal they have gotten and are quite happy to hand over their $7. Here’s where they land.
A few things are happening here to further solidify the funnel:
• We clearly show the graphics of the product and bonuses they are purchasing

• We showed the slashed price of $997 right above the new and unbelievable price of just $7
• We wrote a quick paragraph to further illustrate the amazing deal they are getting
• We sweetened the deal by offering a 30 day guarantee
STEP 5- CALENDAR SCHEDULE Now that the customer has purchased, they are taken to a calendar. I use Acuity to manage my online calendar, but Time Trade, Appointmentcore and Vcita work well too. I am inviting them here to a 15 minute free strategy session. Why? Because this is where the upsell happens.

Remember, the end goal was never to sell them a $7 product, but to get them on the phone and, provided they are a legitimate free 15 minute strategy session. Which, if they are a great fit, approximately 40% upsell to my group 12 month Marketing Mastermind that sells for $399/month.
STEP 6- THE MEMBERS ONLY AREA They found you on Facebook. They downloaded your free resource. They purchased your $7 product and have set up their free 15 minute session. At that point they were asked to set up a member login. I use Kajabi to manage my “members only” content. You can find it at www.kajabinext.com. Now, in order to access their product, they must login in to this “members only” area of our website. This is where you house the content that they need to access.

You want them to consume the product and to ask for more. You want them to get comfortable returning to your site again and again. We establish trust and a solid relationship by creating this exclusive area that is only accessible to people who have purchased from us.
That’s the tripwire sales funnel. It’s that easy.
By now you can probably see that a tripwire sales funnel can be hugely beneficial to your bottom line and is the best way to get a plethora of your content into the hands of the people that need it most.

If you are not a fan of creating videos, take them from a fb ad to an ebook or an audio course instead. The important thing is that you grab them, capture their email address, provide value, make a $7 offer and get them on the phone for a one on one conversation and the upsell.
