Transcript of Freecloud Storage Drop Box
Free Cloud Storage from Dropbox – www.dropbox.com
Dropbox gives you a few free options for storing files in the “cloud.” Once you have an account, you will
be able to access them from a browser or on your device if you download their install. File sharing is
also an option from your account.
Initial free accounts are 2GB of storage. You can create an account as follows:
1. Go to www.dropbox.com and click on the Log in icon
2. When you click “Log in,” a drop down will show up and then you can choose “Create an
account.” The next screen will ask for your First name, Last name, Email address and have you
create a password for Dropbox (don’t use your email password!). If you use your student email
address, you will be eligible for extra free storage space. Agree to the Dropbox terms and you
are off!
3. The next screen will take you to the Dropbox installer. This screen shows you the steps you will
follow to install on your device.
4. If you have already installed the download, click on Tour on this screen, or go to
https://www.dropbox.com/tour. By completing the tour, you will be on your way to earning
more free storage space.
5. After taking the tour, you should automatically be on the Getting Started page. If not, go to
https://www.dropbox.com/gs
I’ve just started this new account for illustration purposes. As I move through the steps, I will
get more storage.
As a student, you can also get more free space by going to https://www.dropbox.com/edu and
verifying your email address. You will also get more space when you invite other students. You
can work towards 16GB of free space with referrals.
