Gluedarkpapertothetopflapsorpaintthemblackwithnontoxicpaint.Aflatblack,nontoxicandhighheatpaintcanbemadebymixingequalpartscharcoalpowder,whiteglueandwater.

Thelargeboxshouldbelinedwithinsulation(1to2inchesworkswell).Iusedsomefabricinsulationthatcanwithstandtemperatureover200C.Newspaperisoneofthebestfreeinsulationsbutmanyotherthingscanbeused.

Thebottomoftheovenshouldbemadefromascrapofwoodthatisalsoblackened.

Firstplacethebottomoftheovenontheinsulationandthenwedgethepiecesforcardboardoneachside.Asmallpieceofmaterialneedstoberemovedfromeachpieceofcardboardsoitwillfitintheboxwiththeinsulation.
