Crochet Baby Booties Pattern This simple pair of baby booties will fit an infant of about 3-6 months. You can make them larger or smaller by changing the number of stitches in the first round accordingly. Tools and Materials Needed:
• Worsted weight yarn • Size 5mm crochet hook • Yarn needle • Scissors
Abbreviations:
• Ch - Chain stitch • Sc - Single crochet • Hdc -Half double crochet • Fphdc - Front post half double crochet • Bphdc - Back post half double crochet • Ss - Slip stitch
Pattern: Round 1 - Make 13 chain stitches (to make booties larger or smaller, increase or decrease the number of stitches). Turn and sc in second chain from hook and next 10 stitches. 3 sc in 12th stitch. Continue around the back of the chain stitches. Sc in next 10 stitches. Continue working in a spiral shape. Round 2 - Hdc in next 13 stitches. 3 hdc in next stitch. Hdc in next 12 stitches. Round 3 - 2 Hdc in first stitch. Hdc in next 13 stitches. 2 hdc in next stitch. Hdc in next 13 stitches. 29 stitches total. (See image 1 for finished boot sole.) Round 4 - Sc in each stitch around. Rounds 5-6 - Repeat round 4. Round 7- Sc in first 10 stitches. Dec 5 times. Sc in next 9 stitches. 24 stitches total. Round 8 - Sc in first 8 stitches, dec 3 times. Sc in next 8 stitches. 21 stitches total. Round 9 - Sc in first 8 stitches, dec 8 times. Sc in next 8 stitches. 19 stitches total. (See image 2 for toe shape.)

Round 10 - Hdc in each stitch around. Round 11 - Fphdc in first stitch. Bphdc in next. Repeat around. Rounds 12-15 - Repeat round 11. (See image 3 for a close up of these rows.) Ss in next stitch and tie off yarn. Weave in ends to complete bootie. Make a second boot following the same pattern.
