"Lest We Forget"

From the East Brethren, can you believe how fast time goes by when you are having so much fun, we arehalfway through the year and it only seems like myself and the Officers were only installed yesterday. What a journey my Brothers, what a journey.

This month's journey started when Brother Chris Tripp and I traveling to Columbia Lodge No. 58 in Frederick, Maryland the 1st to watch Brother Lawrence Joseph Berg who he vouched for be Raised to Master Mason where we were able to observe the Past Masters of Columbia Lodge confer the Master Mason's Degree and what a very impressive job they did. I would like to thank Worshipful Matthew Davis, the Officers and Brethren of Columbia Lodge for such great hospitality. May 9th the George Washington Bible traveled to Henry Lodge No 57 in Fairfax Virginia for the Official Visit of the Grand Master, I would like to Thank RW Brammer, WB Cooper and Brother Snyder for supporting this effort. I would also like to Thank Worshipful Ronald Leibfried and the Officers of Henry Lodge for such a warm welcome and great fellowship. During our stated on the 12th we voted on several petitions along with Restoration and Afflation and would like to welcome back Brother Jason Morris and also welcome Brother Charles (Chuck) Dirienzo. On the 22nd the George Washington Bible traveled to Mt. Vernon Lodge No. 219 where again it was displayed with the George Washington Gavel. I would like to thank Worshipful Brother Liebo and his Officers for such a great welcome and fellowship.

When looking at the activities and Degree work for the month of May again we were quite busy. On the 3rd, Brother Edward Williams was Raised to Master Mason and again like to Thank all that were there to join us in such a great night. On Saturday the 6th we had another great Pancake Breakfast followed by an Officers' meeting, On the 10th afterthe cleanup of the Lodge Brother Jamie Snyder opened an Entered Apprentice Lodge to listen to both Brother Fisher and Brother Maya performed their EA Catechism. On Saturday the 12th, myself, WB Charles Cooper, Brother Dan Goodwin and Brother Chris Tripp along with WB David Bennet were in Kinsale, Va for the Area Masonic School.

Table Lodge Fredericksburg Lodge No 4. Table Lodge will be June 10th, 2017 celebrating the Holy Saints John. The Table Lodge will be from 6:30 to 7:30 and is open to all Masons. Please go to our website at www.masoniclodge4.org for reservations.

Fredericksburg Lodge No. 4 Blood Drives are Located at the Spotsylvania Towne Center. Location is near the food Court. Contact our Lodge Blood Coordinator Brother Jeff Mikulas at ([email protected]) to volunteer or to Donate.

From the SecretaryJust a short note from the Secretary concerning the 2017 Dues, we have about 25 Brothers that still have not paid as of this Date. I would like to remind all that as always, if you are having a problem paying, please let the Master know, if we don't know, we cannot help.

Brother Paul Dooley, Brother Jamie Snyder, Brother Justin Woodside and Brother Brad Nema along with the Jobs Daughters’participated in the Child ID program at Lafayette Upper Elementary School. 43 children were ID. On the 17th we initiated Brother Robert L. Waslov as our newest Enter Apprentice and Brother Callies gave his EA Catechism. Over the weekend of the 20th, Brother James Smith, Brother Kevin Valentine and Brother John Saunders worked in the Cemetery by trimming the trees and cutting the grass. On the 24th Brother Richard Fisher and Brother Vitali Maya were passed to Fellowcraft and would like to say what Great night that was. The FMMA Golf Tournament was met with some great weather and a good time by all. I would like to Thank Brother Jamie Snyder for all the work that was put into making it so successful. In addition, In addition, what outstanding support we had during the Memorial Service that was held on Memorial Day and the coordination effort done by WB Shelby Chandler which made the day very special and successful. I would also like to thank WB Jan Harvey and WB Sandy Mackey for setting up the Cemetery for this service. On the 31st of May our newest Master Mason Brother Joseph Gilkerson was Raised and would like to Thank MW Michael Jungel PGM of Michigan and WB Barry Mensh for visiting and helping with this Degre. Overall it was a very busy and successful month, this could not have been accomplished without the help and commitment of all the Brothers that continue to support this Lodge.

Looks like June will be again just as busy as May. Starting off with a Memorial Service for Brother Strait on the 3rd of June starting at 2:30PM please if you are free and are able to support Henrico Union Lodge No 130 who will be doing the Masonic Service. We will be having the Annual Table Lodge on the 10th of June starting at 6:00 PM celebrating the Fest of Saint John please contact Brolther Edmund Witalec for reservations and tickets. We will be having Degree work every Wednesday this coming month starting at 7:00PM if in the length of you cable tow. We will again be hosting the District Ritual School the 4th Monday of June it is encourage that all Master Mason who are interested in honing their ritual skills.

From the Lodge Instructor of Work I would like to Thank all that have been supporting the Lodge in all its’ degree work. The experience that the candidates receive are a direct reflection of the Lodge as a whole. Upcoming degree dates for May are as Follows:

6/7: MM Degree (Brother McConnell 6/14: FC Degree (Brother Callies 6/21: EA Degree 6/26: District School6/28: EA Degree

For all Brethren that are interested in getting involved with degrees and coaching please join us Wednesday nights. We will be doing ritual practice/work prior to the Degrees starting at 5:30 PM and finishing up around 6:30 PM. In addition, following the Wednesday Degree with the exception on nights that a Master Mason Degree is conferred there will be class covering the Master Mason Catechism.

From the Stewards Brethren, our Pancake Breakfast is on the 3rd of June, and as stated by the Worshipful our Annual Table Lodge is on the 10th of June starting at 6:00Pm Please contact me at philly.wits@verizon.
