¿Cómo poneros en situación...? La historia es larga y hay poco espacio. Resulta que el UNO Exhibition de este número iba destinado a otro artis-ta, una persona a la que le teníamos ganas (en el mejor sentido) pero con la que finalmente y tras mucha discusión no acabamos de entendernos. Con el tiempo justo y sin un plan de emergencia, teníamos todos los in-gredientes de que las cosas salieran mal, muy mal. Una revista con retra-so, gente enfadada, un portfolio desconocido, etc. Pero ah... como bien dice el genial Ignatius Reilly, protagonista de la novela ‘La conjura de los necios’ (cuya cita abre este portfolio): “Fortuna, esa zorra viciosa...”, ¡cómo ha sabido ponernos cachondos una vez más! Resulta que una de las personas con las hablo a diario mientras comparto trabajo había decidido entregarme su portfolio de fotografía de patín hacía cosa de un mes. Con poco tiempo para dedicarme a nada que no sea comer-dormir-trabajar, no le había dedicado mucha atención. Pues bien, ayer, en pleno momen-to de crisis, la bombilla chispea, se enciende, y se me ocurre abrir la car-peta. Volià! Fred, ese chico con, es un pedazo de talento con la capacidad de salvarle el cuello a la revista. Y podría soltaros cualquier rollo sobre mi interpretación de la obra de este loco del sur de Francia, pero creo que lo que toca es hablar de él. Fred es la personificación de esa sorpresa, de la genialidad fruto de lo inesperado. Del amor por el caos y la inconscien-cia. Fred es todo eso, y todo esto es el fruto de su forma de ser. ¿cuánto tiempo llevas patinando?Empecé a patinar cuando tenía 14 años. ¡¡Joder!! ¡Me siento tan viejo cuando digo eso!

¿cuánto tiempo llevas trabajando en la industria del skateboard?Trabajo en ella desde hace 3 años.

¿cuál es tu campo profesional? Soy fotógrafo de snowboard y hago de editor fotográfico para Method mag.

¿cuál es el cliente de tus sueños?¡Por supuesto! Me gustaría trabajar sólo con gente que adora mi trabajo, sea en el campo del skate o snowboard. ¿Auto-didacta o escuela?Auto-didacta. Mi padre me regaló mi primera cámara con 20 años. Después de aquello, mira todo lo que ha pasado...

¿blogs o revistas?Blogs qué, ¿cómo Facebook? hehe. Me gusta leer ‘Réponses Photos’ (revista francesa sobre equipo usado) y ‘Pony Mag.’. También leo ‘Snowboard mag’ y ‘Skateboard mag’, pero en Francia no nos llega UNO, así que creo que debe-ría suscribirme... Me gusta mirar mu-chas webs de fotógrafos también.

¿grandes marcas o exposición de Arte?Me gustaría trabajar para una gran mar-ca y así ganar dinero como para mon-tarme una buena exposición, hehe.

city you were born / city where you live now / favourite city:I was born in Tarbes (SW France), now I live in Innsbruck (Austria) and my favourite city is Biarritz, in France (life is a beach, ‘djude’).

How long have you been skating?I started skateboarding when I was 14 years old. Fuck!! I feel so old when I say that!!

How long have you been working in the skateboard industry?I’ve been working in it for 3 years.

What’s your professional field? I’m a snowboard photographer and I work for Method mag. as Photo-Editor.

Any dream clients? Yes, of course! I would like to just work with people who love my work, either from Skate or Snowboarding fields.

Self-education or school?Self-education. My father gave me my first camera when I was 20 years old. After that all this happened...

blogs or magazines?Blogs like Facebook? Hehe. I like reading ‘Réponses Photos’ (French Mag for used equipment) and ‘Pony Mag.’. I also read ‘Snowboard mag’ and ‘Skateboard Mag’ but in France we don’t receive UNO, so I guess I should get a subscription... I look at a lot of photographer‘s sites too.

big brand or Art exhibition? I would like to work for a big brand in order to get money to do a nice photography exhibition, hehe.

Menciona tu fotógrafo favorito y tu fotógrafo de skate favorito.¡Vaya! ¡Esta es una pregunta difícil! La verdad es que no se que contestarte en la primera. Fotógrafos de skate favoritos tengo varios: Seab Cronan, Scott Pommier, Seu Trinh, Brian Ge-berman, mi amigo francés David Ma-naud y Kevin Metallier...

¿cuál ha sido la mejor compra de tu vida? ¿Y esa de la que te arrepentirás toda tu vida? Si tuvieras todo el dine-ro del mundo, ¿qué te comprarías?Lo mejor es mi alucinante ojo de pez para Hasselblad (lo adoro), y probable-mente también sea lo peor, puesto que lo compré por primera vez en eBay y nunca llegó. Si tuviera mucho dinero compraría una ‘digital back’ para mi Hassel ¡o un buen regalo para mi chica Zouzou!

Mention your favourite photographer of all time and your favourite skate-board photographer.WOW! That’s a difficult one! I don’t know the first one, really. My favourite skateboard photographers are many: Sean Cronan, Scott Pommier, Seu Trinh, Brian Geberman, my french friend David Manaud and Kevin Metallier...

What’s the best thing you have ever bought? And the worst...? if you had all the money of the world, what would you get?The best thing I have bought is my awesome Hasselblad fisheye (love it), and probably the worst too, ‘cause I paid for my first one on eBay and never arrived. If I had a lot of money I would buy a digital back for my Hasselblad or a big gift for my girlfriend Zouzou!
