FRIEND RAISING AND FUND RAISING
ISSUE 51, APRIL—JUNE 2014
Armaan, was one of the 4881 children reached
in last quarter. Weighed 5.5 kgs in 20 months
and was severely malnourished. Initially, the
child was linked to GTB hospital, for checkup
and medication; however, the situation did not
improve substantially. Mobile Creches staff
suggested the family to take care of the child
and feed him with special diet like Daliya, Khi-
chdi, Sooji ka Kheer, boiled egg etc. Mean-
while, Mobile Creches contacted Nutritional
Rehabilitation Centers at Hindu Rao hospital to
get special attention for curbing the malnutri-
tion. He was admitted and received proper
diet, medicines and massage. With the inter-
vention, child’s weight has improved to 9.5 Kgs
and he is leading a normal healthy life.
At Mobile Creches, we experience everyday
the national shame of malnutrition in India.
Balanced diet is fundamen-tal for a healthy human being, especially for the proper development of children.

40 organizations, Mobile Crèches convening)
prepared and submitted a Demand Charter. 220
people participated in the collective meeting in
April. Three major political parties included the
young child issue in their election manifesto.
