Trains and BusesLocated in the heart of Frankston is the Frankston Transit Exchange, where the trains connect with the bus network. Trains depart towards Melbourne city every 10 to 20 minutes. The Stony Point line also links to Frankston, running a number of times a day. An extensive public bus network operates throughout Frankston including services to the Mornington Peninsula.

By BikeFrankston has a well connected trail of bike paths and shared paths that weave their way throughout the city, making Frankston the perfect place to leisurely explore. Information is available at the Frankston Visitor Information Centre.

CarsBring your own or hire a car to travel around the city and surrounding region at your own pace. Most major car-hire businesses are located in the city. Taxis are also readily available. Travel from Melbourne via EastLink Tollway for easy driving, or meander along Nepean Highway.

On FootVisit staff at the Frankston Visitor Information Centre for maps and insider knowledge of the best paths to explore first. It is an easy stroll from the Frankston city centre following the blue colour-coded way finding signs.

FerriesConnecting the Bellarine and Great Ocean Road to the Mornington Peninsula, the 40-minute ferry crossing from Queenscliff to Sorrento saves you time and kilometres. Whether you travel as a foot passenger or with your car, there is much to see, perhaps even a dolphin or two.

Inter Island Ferries connect from Stony Point to French Island and Phillip Island (Cowes) across Western Port Bay. Take your bike or just travel by foot and take a tour from the other side.

AirportTullamarine Airport is Melbourne’s biggest international and domestic terminal and is approximately 25 kms northwest of Melbourne CBD. There is a range of transport options available from the airport including bus, taxi or rental car.

Renowned for arts and culture, a visit to Frankston is not complete without a photo at McClelland Sculpture Park + Gallery. Take a stroll through the 16 hectare park to view over 90 diverse sculptures set in native bushland, then relax in the gallery café.

No need to travel to Melbourne, as the 800 seat theatre at the Frankston Arts Centre provides a memorable range of entertainment at an affordable price, accessible for all abilities. You can also dine first class prior to your show.

Delve back into history in Frankston’s two significant historic homesteads, the 1855 French style homestead Ballam Park and 1920’s American Colonial mansion Mulberry Hill which was the home of the late Sir Daryl and Lady Joan Lindsay, author of Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Sand Sculpting Australia offers visitors a wonderful experience to view and photograph 3,500 tonnes of sand that has been transformed into intricately carved sand sculptures.
