    Library Feedback May 2010

Your Feedback Our ResponseI think Frankston Library is great and you canlearn so many new things there. Its great.

This library is fantastic and I come here every

    Saturday

Really good service and wide range of items andbooks. Happy customer. - Thanks

    Very cool place to chill

    Courteous service, polite and helpful

    I love the library

    The staff was very helpful

I think this library is really cool and amazing

Thank you for giving us such good service.Enjoying your display that changes to beinteresting all the time. Pity we do not have more

time to read etc. Library looks good.Awesome bean bags!!

Thanks to everyone for sharing their experienceof the library.

Thank you for your praise in recognition of ourlibrary service and staff. We strive to provide awarm and welcoming atmosphere for ourcustomers and its always great to hear from oursatisfied customers. We look forward to your nextvisit.

Would it be possible to schedule another visitfrom the bullying specialist?

Thank you for your feedback. We are currentlyplanning events and activities for the next sixmonths. Although we are not planning oninviting Andrew Fuller to return to the library, wemay have other specialists of interest.Steve Bidduph, author of Raising Boys and Thesecret of happy childrenwill appear at the ArtsCentre on Monday, 25 October. Tickets on salesoon from the Box Office, on 9784 1060.

The piano music is annoying! If he was playingdifferent songs and notes it would be okay! I lovehow there is a wii and showing movies at thelibrary is a great idea.

Thanks for all your feedback. We triedsomething a bit different on Sunday 23 May aspart of our Library Week celebrations and willtake your feedback into consideration whenselecting musicians for future sessions. We arepleased that you are enjoying using the wii atyour library.

Whilst I do love the library, I believe it should bea quiet place. Bands and shows should not behere. People come here for a quiet place to study

and it should remain that way. Thank you :)

Libraries have changed over the last few yearsand are now providing more programs andevents, with varying levels of noise. If you would like to know when it is more likelyto be quiet in the Library, please ask a staff

member. You are welcome to use any of thestudy rooms in the library. Thanks for sharingyour feedback with us.

Newly acquired DVDs should have a loan periodof 1 week for a certain period of time. This wouldenable more people to see them. If somebodycant find the time to watch a movie during thecourse of a week they mustnt be that keen tosee it.

Thanks for your suggestion. Well monitor thefeedback to see if this continues to be an issueand in the interim buy extra copies of populartitles so that theyre more readily available.

    Library Feedback May 2010

Your Feedback Our Response*The books seem to be all over the place bothfiction and non-fiction.*Very difficult to find books when not in correct

locations. Authors should be at least groupedtogether not on up to 5/6 shelves. The problem isgetting worse. Non fiction are the same = know itis difficult but its not that hard. Just need a bit ofcare.

As the fiction collection is arranged by the first 3letters of the authors last name, several authorsmay be grouped together. We have recently

introduced 4 letters to overcome this problem.Non-fiction is arranged by subject not author, and so an authors works may be spread acrossa number of areas. The catalogue is the bestplace to check where the works are held.

I think Frankston library is great because it has agreat collection from book cd dvd etc

Glad to hear youre enjoying the range!

Regret that there are hardly any audio tapes toborrow. They all seem to be on disc & no use inmy car. More tapes please.

The audio cassette format has not beenpurchased for many years as suppliers arephasing it out. We have recently removed ourold items as they were old and worn and we will

not be adding this format to the collection. Thereare options for playing CDs through older carstereos but would you would need to buyequipment to do so.

Talking Books for myself and many other agedpersons I find it very difficult to read and reachbooks on lower shelves.

Sorry to hear that the lower shelves are hard toreach. Please feel free to ask staff to assist you.

Firstly thankyou for providing the community witha great free facility. Over the past couple ofmonths (approx 6 visits) almost every talkingbook has not been able to be scanned. I have

had to wait whilst a library attendant places theapprop stickers on the books for them to belogged. We sometimes have up to 15 books andtherefore the delay can be quite lengthy for bothmyself and my 8 year old son. Is it possible toplace a process where by as new items arepurchased by the library they are cataloguedbefore they enter the shelves for borrowing.Thankyou for taking the time to read my ideasand I hope that it assists w/ speedy borrowing infuture.

Thanks for raising this problem with us. Theissue lay with the existing talking books, not withnew items. It was recently audited and thosewithout tags were labeled. You should have noproblems now with speedy borrowing!

Could you please place all fast adult fictiontogether as it was.

The Adult Fast Fiction was moved in responseto many feedback requests to be closer to themain collection and so will remain in thislocation for now.

    Get Nirvana: Live at Reading

Have Wii games to hire. Thanks for your suggestions.

This library is fabulous. I come here all the timeand have never not been able to find what Imlooking for

Thank you for your kind words.

    Your Feedback Our Response

Would be helpful if a sign could be put at the newbook stand to indicate the area which hasbig/large print

The books placed on the new books stand varydaily and do not always include all formats /genres such as large print. Having a dedicated

area/ sign would limit the space available forother items. If there is a large number of aparticular format or genre, e.g. large print orromance we try to group these together. As thisstand is constantly changing it is best to look atall sides of the stand to make sure you dontmiss anything. Thanks for your feedback.

To the I.T. Administrator Again for the third timecan we please have Google Earth back on thecomputers or at least could you say why it wasstopped in the first place. Was told it months ago

it would be back on line still waiting

Apologies for the delay in installing GoogleEarth back onto the public computers. We havehad a number of delays with the change over tonew PCs in the public area. We have passed onyour request to the IT Support area to see if

Google Earth can be installed before the newcomputers arrive.

Thankyou!!! I desperately needed to do my tax,but also had my 6 yr old to entertain. So wecame here, my son played Wii while I did my tax!Really great thank youOne suggestion (if space ever permits) it wouldbe really helpful to have some adult furniturenear the Wii zone. Then we can do our ownthing there too and keep an eye on theirbehaviour and noise level.

Thank you for your feedback and suggestion.Unfortunately there is only a small amount ofroom where the Wii is currently installed and atable and chairs in the area would be a safetyhazard.

Can you please review policy of late attendance

for Public PCstime frame. There was confusion.I was delayed in helping a frail 90 year old manwho needed help after a fall, I helped with gettingbus information and walking him to the bus stop.I got into Frankston at 10 to 2 and I got into thelibrary and spoke to one of the staff members at2.07. Please confirm if there is a 15 minutes timeif late, if not what is it?

Most of the computers have been reserved butthe reserved person does not turn up. When agenuine person like me comes we dont get thecomputer. It is very very distressing. Can thesituation have a solution please.

Part of the conditions of use of the publiccomputers is that bookings will be cancelled ifthe customer does not attend their bookingwithin 15 minutes of the starting time. 15minutes was decided on as the fairest amountof time to hold a computer for late comers afterit was trialed when we initially installed thepublic computers.
