SINK STYLE OPTIONS

Inset: The frame of an inset sink sits on top of the

worksurface. These sinks are compatible with any worksurface, including laminate worktops.

Undermount: An undermount sink is

installed underneath the worktop, only compatible with solid surface worktops such as granite or solid wood.

Belfast: Belfast sinks are installed either ‘dropped-

Fragranite treated with Sanitized®

Fragranite is an exceptionally tough material which is highly resistant to burns, dents chips and stains. It was pioneered by Franke and contains 80% granite to form a unique material with a subtle sheen that is warm to the touch.

Kitchens can be a critical location for spreading bacteria and demand special attention to hygiene. On unprotected material, bacteria can multiply every 20 minutes making surfaces unhygienic. The integrated Sanitized® hygiene function in Fragranite sinks helps to keep this area clean and provides the sink with lasting protection. It does not replace normal cleaning but helps to keep surfaces free from bacteria. Tests have proven that Fragranite treated with Sanitized® reduces bacteria and microbe growth by 99%.

involves your sink being installed from above into a pre-prepared hole in your worktop. It gives you the widest range of sink shapes, sizes and styles to choose from, so you can be sure that there is an inset sink to suit your kitchen.

UndermountParticularly pleasing when combined

with granite, wood or solid surface worktops, undermount sinks allow for smooth, uninterrupted surfaces. Fitted underneath the work surface, it gives an edgeless finish that is easy to clean and is perfectly integrated into the kitchen environment.

CHOOSING YOUR SINK

There are a number of considerations to take into account when choosing a sink. Not only should it accentuate the overall look and feel of your kitchen, but also there are installation and functionality options to take into account. Another vital element to consider is the way your sink physically fits into the heart of your kitchen.

Bowl ConfigurationOne core consideration is the format of the bowls. Whether you prefer the larger area of the single bowl or the versatility offered by the 1½ bowl format, there are options to suit. See diagrams for more detailed information.

Cabinet sizeWhatever the configuration, it is essential to check the cabinet size of your kitchen to ensure the sink will fit. Your sink bowl(s) is required to fit inside a single cabinet, so the cabinet size of each sink is indicated via a symbol, corresponding to the key found on the inside flap of this brochure.

Drainer ConfigurationOnce you have settled on a location for your sink, you can select from a number of drainer options for many styles. They include:

LHD or RHD – This describes whether the drainer on the sink is found to the left or to the right of the main bowl.

REV – These reversible designs have a tap hole at the front and back, giving you the freedom to position the sink to provide either a left or right handed drainer.

LHSB or RHSB – For sinks without a drainer but with more than one bowl, this indicates which side the small bowl is positioned.

BOWL AND DRAINER CONFIGURATION

After deciding on the style and material of your preferred sink, you should also take into consideration the cabinet width, along with your preferred bowl and drainer configuration.

Plumbing kits Franke Plumbing kits are designed to assist in optimising the underside of the cabinet space and in many cases provide for better utilisation of under-sink storage. Franke Siphon plumbing kits are made of rigid grey polypropylene and are the hygienic solution to a Franke sink waste system. Siphon plumbing kits have a manifold with an incline and an air vent for faster water disposal. The relevant plumbing kit is shown with each sink throughout the brochure.

WASTE DISPOSAL UNITS

A choice of four units designed to free the kitchen of unsightly and unhygienic organic household waste. Each unit is the essential add-on for ensuring that all Franke appliances and work surfaces remain looking immaculate.

Thanks to a unique, permanent magnet motor, Franke Turbo Plus Waste Disposal Units reach high speed in a split second, producing more torque per kilo than any other of its type. Whilst running water through the unit, food waste is instantly liquefied into fine particles that are easily flushed through the pipework system. For prices and full specifications see page 45.

Franke RollamatThe patented Franke Rollamat is a handy accessory which can be used to drain glasses or crockery, but also doubles as a trivet to protect the work surface from hot cookware straight from the oven, hob or grill. When not in use, this innovative accessory can be rolled up and conveniently stored away.

The Rollamat can be used on any work surface and therefore with any undermount sink, but will specifically fit the drainer on certain inset sink models. Below is a guide and measurements for each Rollamat model; please check specifications before purchase.

Waste and Overflow SolutionsAll Franke Basket Strainer Wastes are manufactured from stainless steel. A stainless steel bearing is located on the stem which is designed to stop the water flow, and when left in position without sealing will act as a sieve for foodstuffs.

Some Franke sinks come with a Hygienic Overflow, which offers versatility for cleaning. Simple removal of the logo plate reveals the overflow aperture for easy, hygienic cleaning.

ACCESSORIES AND EXTRAS

Colours shown are for reference only. All sinks available with left or right hand drainer. The description ‘reversible’ means that the design enables the same sink to be turned to drainer on the left or drainer on the right. In the case of a ‘handed’ sink it is necessary to specify which side the drainer is required e.g. Epos EOX 651 left hand drainer or EOX 651 right hand drainer. All bowls sizes and dimensions are described in mm.

Franke sinks have a 50 year guarantee against manufacturing defect. Franke taps are guaranteed against defective materials and workmanship for 1 year in relation to coatings and finishes, and 5 years in relation to moving parts. Franke will replace (and where appropriate repair) defective sinks. In relation to taps, Franke will, where appropriate, provide replacement parts for your taps or replace your taps at their discretion. Any associated or ancillary costs to be incurred by you as a result of replacement of Franke sinks and taps under this guarantee shall in all cases be previously approved by Franke UK Limited. This guarantee is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights. Prices shown are UK mainland prices effective from 1st March 2014 and include VAT at the current rate of 20%. This literature has been produced on chlorine free materials harvested from sustainable forests.
