Congratulaons also to all of the students who ran stalls. They showed great maturity throughout the day. We can be very proud of our Stage 3 leaders and the role models that they have become! It was also great to see so many families at our fete. Our school community is incredible! Our parent/carer survey was completed by 20% of our families over the first few weeks of this term. The online format seemed to suit people. It was very pleasing to read of the high levels of inclusivity felt by the parents and carers in our whole school community in regards to their levels of involvement and parcipaon in their child’s educaon. I will back all of our incredible teachers to do an amazing job with each and every student in their care, however your opinion is extremely important to me when seng up our classes. Naturally, with 230 students to look aſter, requests are just that. They are a form of guidance for our educaonal team. They are definitely of great help when we are formulang classes so please do not hesitate to pop in, ring or email should you wish to discuss any aspect of your child’s placement in 2018. Once classes are set we will not be changing them. At this point teachers and parents or carers will address any issues or concerns and formulate a way forward that focusses on the learning needs of the child. This is called a Personal Learning and Support Plan and your involvement in the development of these is crucial. This week we welcome Caitlyn Chaseling-Pearson into our school for work experience. Caitlyn will be joining several classes throughout the week, beginning with 4/3S. I am sure that she will have a great me and learn lots about just what is involved in the teaching profession. Stage 2 will be heading off to Brisbane on Wednesday morning at 6:30am sharp. Mrs

Diary Welcome to Week 4 of Term 4. Our Year 6 Mini Fete was a wonderful way to end the

week last week. Lots of happy kids running around with show bags and painted faces.

Thank you so much to Sally and her team for all of the organisation behind the scenes. Or-

ganising the fete is quite a big task and this year went off without a hitch! Congratulations

also to all of the students who ran stalls. They showed great maturity throughout the day.

We can be very proud of our Stage 3 leaders and the role models that they have become!

It was also great to see so many families at our fete. Our school community is incredible!

A massive thankyou also to Jason Parkins and Kevin Smith for giving up their time on the

day and donating the use of the laser cutter. It was a very popular stall and their generosi-

ty of both their time and resources was very much appreciated!

Our parent/carer survey was completed by 20% of our families over the first few weeks of

this term. The online format seemed to suit people. It was very pleasing to read of the

high levels of inclusivity felt by the parents and carers in our whole school community in

regards to their levels of involvement and participation in their child’s education. Thank

you so much to those who made the time to complete the survey and provide such posi-

tive feedback. It is important to remember that you are more than welcome to provide

feedback, insights and observations at any time throughout the year. Simply give me a

call, pop in or flick me an email. Your opinion counts!

With this in mind it is also time for parents and carers to let me know of any requests for

2018 in regards to classes and teachers. I will back all of our incredible teachers to do an

Caitlyn will be joining several classes throughout the week, beginning with 4/3S. I am sure

that she will have a great time and learn lots about just what is involved in the teaching

Smith and her Stage 2 team have done an incredible job organising a packed and exciting excursion. I am

unfortunately unable to attend this year, so I look forward to hearing all of their exciting stories upon

their return.

On Tuesday Mr Lambert will be taking our Year 6 Zombies down to the high school for their Zombie Tran-

sition Day. This day always engages and excites our kids for what lies ahead in high school next year. Stu-

dents come to school in school uniform and get dressed up prior to heading down to the high school at

12:45.

Kick Start number 2 will be held this Friday. All kindergarten 2018 students are more than welcome to

come along for a taste of big school. Our first session was a great success and I am sure that Ms Edwards,

Miss Scott and their transition team have an action packed day planned. Our Stage 3 peer buddies will

again be involved after doing such an incredible job in Week 2.

This is the last week for 2018 Captain’s Speeches to be completed. All students are expected to write a

speech and will be strongly encouraged to take on this challenge. It will be an extremely anxious time for

many of our Year 5 students as they attempt to conquer their fears, however we will be ready and willing

to support them in every way so as they can rise to this challenge and gain the benefits that come from

knowing you have done something very difficult. If you are experiencing trouble at home with students

being worried about speaking, PLEASE contact me immediately so that we can put the necessary sup-

ports in place and give them the best opportunity to show just how clever and talented they are, not to

mention tough.

Have a great week!

Todd.

Year 6 Mini Fete

Thank you to everyone for such an awesome day on Friday. A special thank you goes out to those who

donated to the Cake Stall.

The day raised approximately $1000 to go towards the Year 6 Farewell and is much appreciated.

Our winners of the Hundreds Club were 1. Maddison Gordon Lichaa

2. Cass Notley

3. Dallas Winner Coggan

The winners for the guessing competition for the snakes were Amber Holton and Charlette Brumpton,

with both guessing the correct number, 72!

The winner for the jelly bean guessing competition was Charlie Craig, guessing 320, with 323 in the jar!

The teachers and staff all seemed to enjoy themselves and we hope that the parents who were able to

make it on the day, will come again next year!
