How to Light a Cigar• Of course you can light a cigar any way that you choose, but there are a few tried and true methods to get

the best out of your cigar. Here are a few:

!• Wooden Matches - Burn slowly, and give enough time to light the cigar.

• Cedar Matches - Longer, and give more time to get a good light. These matches also give off a wonderful scent as the match burns.

• Butane Lighter - This will get your cigar lit quickly.

• Piece of Cedar - Typically comes with a cigar box, and typical to a cedar match.

• Prior to lighting the cigar, you want to moisten the end. The reason for this is if your lips are dry and the cigar is dry, you run the risk of damaging the cigar and compromising the wrap. An easy solution is to wet your lips, and roll the end of the cigar in your mouth for a few seconds.

!• When you are ready to light, hold the cigar horizontally and rotate it as you put the flame to the tip of the

cigar. Once it begins to combust, bring the cigar to your lips and put the flame to it again, puffing lightly while continuing to rotate the cigar. Make sure it is lit evenly.
