Care must be taken when installing this accessory to ensure damage does not occur to the vehicle. The installation of this accessory should follow approved guidelines to ensure a quality installation. These guidelines can be found in the "Accessory Installation Practices" document.

This document covers such items as:

• Vehicle Protection (use of covers and blankets, cleaning chemicals, etc.).• Safety (eye protection, rechecking torque procedure, etc.).• Vehicle Disassembly/Reassembly (panel removal, part storage, etc.).• Electrical Component Disassembly/Reassembly (battery disconnection, connector removal, etc.).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.Isolate the cable with protection in place.See Figure 1.

Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

2. Remove the driver side visor holders. Turnthe holder clockwise approximately 45°and pull it as shown in the illustration.Detach the 2 claws and remove the visorholder. See Figure 2.

3. Using a nylon tool, disengage the 4 clips.Disconnect the connector. Remove maplight assembly. See figure 3.

4. Disengage the front LH A-Pillar garnishclips. See figure 4.

HINT: The front A-Pillar garnish clip should remain between the front A-Pillar garnish LH and the pillar.

Note: RH front A-Pillar garnish is shown in figure 4. Use the same procedure for the LH front A-Pillar garnish.

NOTE: Install a new A-Pillar garnish clip when replacing A-Pillar garnish at the end of installation. A-Pillar clip 62217-52070 is not provided in the mirror kit. This item must be ordered separately.

Using needle nose pliers, turn the front LH pillar garnish clip 90° and disengage it from the front pillar garnish LH. This clip CAN NOT be reused. DESTROY and DISPOSE of clip. See figure 5.

6. Disengage the 5 clips, 2 claws and guide toremove the No. 2 instrument panel finishpanel. See figure 6.

7. Disengage the 2 claws and remove theouter mirror switch assembly/knock out.See figure 7a and 7b.

8. Pinch the cover, disengage the 2 claws andseparate the cover. See figure 8.

While holding down the lock lever in the direction of the arrow labeled A, slide the mirror in the direction of the arrow labeled B and remove it. See figure 8.

9. Using side cuts, trim the original harnessback 22 inches from the end of the spadeconnectors and ring terminal. Pull/Separatethe ground wire from the main powerharness approximately 6 inches. See figure9a and 9b.

10. Strip the main power harness ground wireback 1/4 inch. Make sure to not damage thewire strands. Using the new spadeconnector provided, connect the blackground wire. Make sure the wire and spadeconnector have made a good connectionand crimp. See figure 10.

11. Strip the main power harness main powerwires back 1/4 inch. Make sure to notdamage the wire strands. Twist the twostripped ends together. Using the newspade connector provided, connect theblack and black/white tracer wires to oneconnector. Make sure the wires and spadeconnector have made a good connection.See figure 11.

12. Mount the Frameless® EC Mirrorw/Compass in reverse of original factorymirror removal. Slide and attach therearview mirror assembly and tightenmirror set screw with a T20 torx bit ordriver. DO NOT over tighten screw. Seefigure 12a and 12b.

13. Route the mirror harness to overheadconsole opening using the precut notcheson the front of the headliner. See figure 13.

Do not use power tools to tighten screw. Hands tighten only.

Note: Remove fingerprints, smudges, dirt, etc. from mirror and windshield with glass cleaner.

14. Install the 33mm-58mm wire harnesscover (SET part # 00016-05463-04) overthe wire harness. Seat the bottom of thecover securely to base of the mirror.Extend the top of the cover fully into theheadliner. See figure 14a and 14b.

15. Connect the mirror harness to the mirrormain power harness. Make sure bothconnectors are fully engaged. Wrap foamtape around conectors. See figure 15.

Note: The 33mm-58mm wire harness cover 00016- 05463-04 is not provided in the mirror kit. This item must be ordered separately.

16. Secure the harness to the front center of theheadliner with one (1) piece of foam tape.See figure 16.

17. Route mirror main power harness alongfront edge of headliner towards the LHvehicle A-Pillar. See figure 17.

18. Route the mirror harness down to thebottom of the Front LH pillar. Route theharness through the factory harness clipsattached to the vehicle. Wire tie the harnessto the vehicle harness as shown. See figure18.

19. Route the mirror harness down to the outermirror remote switch. Follow the factoryharness. See figure 19.

DO NOT wire tie the mirror harness to the airbag.

20. Locate vehicle connector D105 outerremote mirror switch. Disconnectconnector. T-Tap the main power harnesspower wires to Pin 8 grey wire in whiteconnector D105.

T-Tap the main power harness ground wireto Pin 7 white/black wire in whiteconnector D105. See figure 20a and figure20b.

21. Using wire ties, surcure the mirror mainpower harness wires to the vehicle harnessas shown. See figure 21.

22. Engage the clips and install the No. 2instrument panel finish panel. See figure22.

24. Install the New A-Pillar garnish upper clip62217-52070 to vehicle A-Pillar. Connectthe speaker connector if equipped. Engagethe 2 guides. Turn the end of the front A-Pillar garnish clip 90°with needle-nosedpliers and install it to the front A-Pillargarnish LH. See figure 24.

Hint: Tape the needle-nosed pliers tipbefore use. Note: RH front A-Pillar garnish is

shown in figure 24. Use the same procedure for the LH front A-Pillar garnish.

NOTE: Install a new A-Pillar garnish upper clip when installing garnish. DO NOT reuse the old clip. THE CLIP MUST BE REPLACED.

A-Pillar clip 62217-52070 is not provided in the mirror kit. This item must be ordered separately.

Torque: 48in.*lbf



30. Compass Zone Setting.

(a) With display turned ON, push themirror power button for 3 seconds or untila number is displayed in the displaywindow.

(b) Refer to the Zone Map and togglebutton until correct zone is displayed. Seefigure 30.

(c) Release button.

(d) The display will return to normalcompass mode (showing either a "C" or adirectional heading) within 10 seconds ofno switch activity.

31. Calibrate Compass.

(a) If a "C" is displayed in window, drivethe vehicle in one circle at less than 5 mph.

(b) Correct compass heading should nowbe displayed.

NOTE: Correct compass zone must be selected prior to compass calibration to ensure accurate calibration. If the vehicle is driven in a new zone, repeat zone selection procedure.

Checklist - these points MUST be checked to Ensure a quality installation.

Check: After Installation

Vehicle should be in a fairly well lit area. Turn ignition (ACC power) to ON.

Auto-dimming feature:

Cover the forward-looking light sensor (located on the back of the mirror).

Mirror clears:

Remove cover from photocell.

Compass Feature:

Look at the mirror compass display.

Operation Instruction Cards .

HomeLink Feature:

Look at the mirror’s (3) HomeLink buttons.

Look For:

Verify green LED is on. If it is not ON press ON / OFF button - confirm LED is ON.

Verify mirror darkens.

Mirror returns to clear state.

Correct compass heading should now be displayed. If a "C" is displayed in window, calibrate the compass.

Place in the vehicle glove box.

Verify all (3) buttons are illuminated when the vehicle ignition is ON.

HomeLink icon will appear in mirror. Press button again to stop the icon from flashing.

Press the mirror’s (3) HomeLink buttons.

Map Light Assembly:

Check map light.

Remote Mirror Switch, Interior Light Dimming Switch.

Check the remote mirror switch, interior light dimmimg switch.

Verify the map light functions properly.

Verify switch functions properly.
