Filtration Operation:

Slurry

Filtrate

Slurry enters the frame from feed channel!

Filtrate drains and escapes from outlet in the plate leaving solid to form a cake!

Frame becomes filled with filter cake!

The process stops, frame is emptied & cycle restarts!

Washing Operation:

In case the solid cake is wanted, the cake is washed!

To wash the cake, outlets on washing plates are closed and washing water is pumped into washing channel!

Water passes through inlets in washing plates to cake and filter cloth then escapes from outlets of ordinary plates!
