Brand Guidelines2
The FPE Brand GuidelinesImportance
As the first and the largest non-government organization in the Philippines that catalyzes cooperation to conserve biodiversity anvd sustain communities, FPE has to purposivelycommunicate its mission and contributions to the public. Having a distinct, memorable, timeless and appropriate brand identity is a basic step towards recognition and acknowledgement of FPE’ work.
The logo resembles a leaf that aptly captures the environmental focus of FPE. The inner leaf is shaped like clasped hands depicting partnership, cooperation and unity. The colors represent an integrated and inclusive approach to conservation. Green is for terrestrial, while blue is for priority marine areas supported by the organization. The brand presents a bolder and more prominent FPE. It stands out from the spelled out name of the organization. Sending a clear message about FPE’s work is the stylish and fitting tagline and brandmark, “Fostering Partnerships for the Environment.”
FPE units/offices, project holders and partners may not create a different or separate logo identity for FPE.

The FPE Brand GuidelinesDesign Rationale
We find order and symmetry in natural forms that appeal to us humans. This “sacred geometry” in nature resonates the belief that there is an inseparable relationship of the part to the whole.
Interconnectedness reminds us of our relationship with all that is createdNatural order is the fullest expression of this unity and completeness.
The FPE logo is a reflection of the harmony between man and nature. It represents the relationship that is needed between all creatures in the planet.
In the brand touchpoints, the rectangle frames the imagery perfectly, representing the shift in focus required to work with and for the environment. These aspirational images represent the goal of the foundation as a result of a careful evaluation of FPE’s brand presence.

The FPE Logotype
The unique style for the letters “Foundation for the Philippine Environment” is called the logo or logotype.
It is the main visual element in FPE’s branding. The relative size, positioning and color are explained in this guide.
This logo, created in 2013, replaces all older institutional logos.
When the Foundation for the Philippine Environment name is mentioned in a headline or body text, do not use this logo. Set the letters “Foundation for the Philippine Environment” in all caps, and “Fostering Partnerships for the Environment” in title case, with Georgia in italic as the typeface and size as big as the width of the logo.
Note: This logotype cannot be hand drawn, scanned or modified. A layered electronic file will be provided with this guide.

The FPELogotypeminimum free space
A “free space” is maintained around the logo to ensure readability and visual impact. No text. images and graphics should lie on this area. The height of the letter “F” in “Foundation” represents the distance of the logotype from the distance from the outer edges of the logo, as is defined here as the minimum free space.
Digital files of these versions of the logo are available with this guide.

The FPE Logotypewithin a panel
When the logo needs to be placed on any graphic (i.e pattern or photograph), a panel shape may be used behind the logo.
The minimum free space of the logo is still observed with the use of the panel shape.
Digital files of these versions of the logo are available with this guide.

The ZMG Ward Howell Logotypeapplied tone backgrounds
For printing in newspaper advertisements, low-budget printing, and photocopies, the preferred treatment for the logo is black against white and reversed to white against black for maximum contrast. Keep in mind that newsprint and photocopying do not provide solid black, so it loses some contrast.
Set the letter Z to 70% Black and MG Ward Howell to solid black, or reverse to white.
If unsure, choose the logo that provides full contrast.

The FPE Logotypeoutdated designs
The FPE visual identity system introduced in 2013 is now the official identity system for the campus. Older designs that were created by or commissioned by FPE have been withdrawn from circulation. You may continue to use stockpiles of existing materials, but please do not reprint materials with these designs or usethe designs to create new materials. On Web sites, replacement of outdated logos should be part of any planned update or redesign.

The FPE Logotypecolor palette
A vibrant and lively color set has been identified for internal and external visual brandpoints. These colors have been set in order to create consistency and emphasis on all FPE presentations.
Together with the logo color, FPE yellow green and FPE blue green, this secondary color set comprises the FPE palette. Used singly or in combinations, the secondary colors can, for example, be applied to graphic elements on brochure covers, company profiles and promotional folders. On other printed documents or in Powerpoint presentations, they can be used on diagrams or statisticalcharts and graphs. They may also find use on displays and temporary signing needs.
Please note: Do not use any of the bright colors as the primary color on printed covers or other graphic media, especially behind or against the logo, since these colors are not associated withthe FPE identity. Refer to pages 5 through 10 regarding the logo and color usage.
