In fact, we are just a day away from our next SBE chapter meeting. But first a few items going in with your SBE membership this month. SBE IP Networking Webinar Series Continues February 25 The New Year brought a new eight-part IP Networking webinar series from the SBE. The series instructor is Wayne Pecena, CPBE, 8-VSB, AMD, DRB, CBNE, assistant director of educational broadcast services in the Office of Information Technology at Texas A&M University. Part 1 of the new IP Networking webinar series, Network Topology, was presented on January 21. Part 2, A Focus on Ethernet Switching, takes place on February 25 at 2:00 pm EST. Part 3, A Focus on Everything Layer 3, will be March 25 at 2:00 pm EST. More information can be found at the SBE website, Education page. SBE Certification exam dates for 2021 The SBE Certification Committee has established exam dates through 2021. For more information about SBE Certification, reach out to our chapter Certification Chair, Jim Sams [email protected] or contact Megan Clappe, Certification Director at the SBE National Office at (317) 846-9000 or [email protected] . Although the February time to certify is currently underway, the next window is in June. Please reach out to the above two before April 16th. Stay Connected: Renew Your SBE Membership! Annual membership renewal for Member, Associate, Senior, Student and most Fellow members of the SBE is underway. You should have received your renewal letters and membership cards in the mail by now. The due date for membership renewal is April 1. Those in the Member, Senior, Student, Fellow and Associate categories that chose the SBE MemberPlus option in 2020 may renew with SBE MemberPlus in 2021, or can revert to traditional membership. Our guest is Dean K. Wilson, a retired fire protection expert. He'll discuss fire safety and prevention in the workplace, covering hazard topics such as fuel storage, materials storage, electrical safety and trash collection. We'll also discuss proper fire extinguishers for electrical
environments, and creating a management program for protection of assets.Mr. Wilson has 30 years of experience in insurance, and five years at a consulting where he was responsible for the protection of broadcasting facilities of all types. Social Networking Committee Chair Kirk Harnack, CBRE, CBNE, will lead the discussion.
Each installment of the SBE WEBxtra also includes an SBE Member Update to bring you the latest on SBE activities and programs.

This Months Program The last item is to share that I am looking forward to the program at the Chapter 80 meeting this month. Scott Fybush is delighted to join us at noon this Tuesday, Feb. 16. Scott brings a wonderful knowledge and history of transmitter sites all over the country.
