Find an innovationA FoW innovator with a stunning initiative related to waste
reduction and transformation might be waiting for you in any
part of the world!
FoW helps projects in every field of innovation:
1. Arts
2. Social Innovation
3. Renewable energy
4. Smart collection
5. New resources
6. Awareness
You can either find some projects on
futureofwaste.org, contact a friend, a project holder
you met in a conference, on internet, or ask the FoW
Crew on Facebook who’s in your city.
Ask him a 30min interview (skype, phone, coffee) to
know what are his/her challenges and his story. If he’s
not on the platform yet, offer him to “submit” his
project and challenge online.

1. Connection: We help you connect to a variety of actors to develop new bridges and create opportunities.
2. Innovation: We create tools together to experiment or develop new possible transpositions of the existing solutions in various scales or contexts.
3. Diffusion: You control the level of information that you disclose to the public, but the contents and tools created within the community are accessible to everyone.
4. Small is beautiful: We focus on short-circuit initiatives and initiatives that open up a large scope of new possibilities.
5. Shared horizon: We promote innovations that foster a more circular economy, with an optimal environmental balance and a positive social impact.
6. Openness: We promote examples of innovators, citizens, artists, inventors, public players and private companies, who question our habits towards a better transformation of waste.
7. Impact: We are a global network with a positive impact on a local scale.

thinking methodology. At the end, everybody leaves
with something concrete. Define what it will be:
• A prototype: For instance co-design the best bin, a
biodigester, a collection process,.… that could help
the entrepreneur and the community.
• A toolkit: Build a ready-to-use kit for the
entrepreneur and the community.
- Entrepreneurs: Find new ideas to improve their

✓Check list
Invite innovators to help a projects to have a precise
vision of its environment and field (oil, paper, textile,...).
During a mapping session participants map the
project's ecosystem, co-define a dedicated
vocabulary and co-design a cartography.
Life-cycle - Value chain - Key players - User path
A mapping session enables to identify the hot spots
that the entrepreneur need to focus on and the trade
offs. At the end, different scenarii can be drawn and the
impact assessed.
•- Entrepreneurs: Spot collaboration opportunities,
learn more on its ecosystem.
- Explorers: Contribute and enrich their knowledge
of the circular economy model.
