SECOND READING: Romans 5:12–15 Brothers and sisters: Through one man sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all men,

inasmuch as all sinned—for up to the time of the law, sin was in the world, though sin is not accounted when there is no

law. But death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those who did not sin after the pattern of the trespass of Adam,

who is the type of the one who was to come. But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one

the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one man Jesus Christ overflow for the

many.

HOMILY

CREED I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit

was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death

and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated

at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no

end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the

Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and

apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and

the life of the world to come. Amen.

SEGUNDA LECTURA: Romanos 5, 12–15 Hermanos: Por un solo hombre entró el pecado en el mundo y por el pecado entró la muerte, así la muerte paso a todos los

hombres, porque todos pecaron. Antes de la ley de Moisés ya existía el pecado en el mundo y, si bien es cierto que el pecado no

se castiga cuando no hay ley, sin embargo, la muerte reinó desde Adán hasta Moisés aun sobre aquéllos que no pecaron como

pecó Adán, cuando desobedeció un mandato directo de Dios. Por lo demás, Adán era figura de Cristo, el que había de venir.

Ahora bien, el don de Dios supera con mucho al delito. Pues si por el pecado de uno solo hombre todos fueron castigados con la

muerte, por el don de un solo hombre, Jesucristo, se ha desbordado sobre todos la abundancia de la vida y la gracia de Dios.

Sacred Heart Southern Missions and

the Samaritans have many clients

who have trouble keeping food on

the table and paying their monthly bills; apart of the extra

expense of buying school supplies. Hundreds of families

benefitted from these two organizations last year.

Please help us help those who are less fortunate. We need

backpacks and basic school supplies by July 15th to fill

our community needs. Can you help?

FACING SURGERY OR SERIOUS HEALTH TESTS?

Due to Covid regulations at all hospitals, our priests

are not allowed to go into the hospitals to anoint a

parishioner with the Sacrament of the Sick.

We encourage all parishioners to call the Church

office (662-342-1073) or in case of emergency (901-

351-6591) to make an appointment with one of our

priests to receive the Sacrament before an anticipated

entrance into the hospital.

A CALL TO HOLINESS

175. When, in God’s presence, we examine our life’s

journey, no areas can be off limits. In all aspects of life

we can continue to grow and offer something greater to

God, even in those areas we find most difficult. We need,

though, to ask the Holy Spirit to liberate us and to expel

the fear that makes us ban him from certain parts of our

lives. God asks everything of us, yet he also gives

everything to us. He does not want to enter our lives to

cripple or diminish them, but to bring them to fulfilment.

Discernment, then, is not a solipsistic self-analysis or a

form of egotistical introspection, but an authentic process

of leaving ourselves behind in order to approach the

mystery of God, who helps us to carry out the mission to

which he has called us, for the good of our brothers and

sisters.

no hay espacios que queden excluidos. En todos los

aspectos de la existencia podemos seguir creciendo y

entregarle algo más a Dios, aun en aquellos donde

experimentamos las dificultades más fuertes. Pero hace

falta pedirle al Espíritu Santo que nos libere y que

expulse ese miedo que nos lleva a vedarle su entrada en

algunos aspectos de la propia vida. El que lo pide todo

también lo da todo, y no quiere entrar en nosotros para

mutilar o debilitar sino para plenificar. Esto nos hace ver

que el discernimiento no es un autoanálisis ensimismado,

una introspección egoísta, sino una verdadera salida de

nosotros mismos hacia el misterio de Dios, que nos ayuda

a vivir la misión a la cual nos ha llamado para el bien de

los hermanos.

First Communion Update: with social

distancing in effect we have had to make

changes for the First Communion Mass:

1. No retreat on Friday, July 31st.

2. We will have two Masses :

Saturday, August 1st at 10:00 am and

Saturday, August 8th at 10:00 am.

3. Number of guest are restricted!

Two parents and child receiving communion.

NO grandparents, NO godparents, NO siblings.

Only the parents and child.

4. Masks are required for EVERYONE.

5. Photographer available. Package cost: $30.00

2. Tendremos dos misas:

Sábado 1 de agosto a las 10:00 a.m. y

Sábado 8 de agosto a las 10:00 a.m.

3. El número de invitados está restringidos!

• Los papás y el niño que recibirá la comunión.

• NO abuelos, NO padrinos, NO hermanos.

• Solo los padres y sus hijos que recibirán la

primera comunión.

4. Se requieren que TODOS usen cubre bocas.

5. Fotógrafo disponible. Costo del paquete: $30.00
