SACRED HEART ASSEMBLY IN MILWAUKEE- Our

priests will be attending their annual assembly in

Milwaukee from Monday, June 10th through Friday, June

14th. Parishes will have communion services in lieu of

Mass while they are away.

REUNIRAN EN MILWAUKEE- Nuestros sacerdotes

estarán presentes en la asamblea anual en Milwaukee

desde el lunes 10 al viernes 14 de junio. Las parroquias

tendrán servicios de comunión en lugar de la Misa

mientras los sacerdotes están fuera.

PREP CLASSES --- Registration forms and

schedules are ready for the 2019-2020 school

year. They can be found at the bulletin board in

the gathering area. A basket is available for

completed forms. We do not charge for these

classes but appreciate a donation from each family to help

with the cost of running our program. Donations can be put

in an envelope marked PREP and dropped off in the office

or in the collection basket at Mass.

ALL Children and youth of the parish should be enrolled

in religious education.

Children in grades K-3 meet on Sunday mornings, grades 4-

8 on Tuesday nights and high school on Wednesday nights.

First Communion candidates must be in at least second

grade and attend two years of preparation.

Confirmation students must be in high school and must

attend parish religious education on Wednesday nights.

This includes those students attending Catholic high schools.

Confirmation Program consists of a year of scripture and a

year of doctrine. After completing these two years,

confirmation will be celebrated in the fall upon completing a

course on the Sacrament of Confirmation.

CLASES DE PREPARACIÓN RELIGIOSA---

Las formas de inscripción y los horarios están listos para el

año escolar 2019-2020 en el tablero de anuncios en el área

de reunión. Deje su forma llena en la canasta. No hay costo

por estas clases, pero agradecemos una donación de cada

familia para ayudar con el costo del programa. Puede dejar

su donación en un sobre marcado PREP en la oficina o en la

canasta de recolección en la misa.

TODOS los niños y jóvenes de la parroquia deben estar

matriculados en las clases de educación religiosa.

Los niños en los grados K-3 se reúnen los domingos por la

FATHERS’ DAY BLESSING! At all of the Masses on the weekend

of June 15th and 16th, there will be a

special blessing for all our fathers,

grandfathers and godfathers.

We encourage all the families to accompany your Dad's &

husbands to Mass on the weekend. Your presence will be

their greatest delight and blessing.

envelopes in the pews for you to include the names of your

father, godfathers and grandfathers living and deceased.

A CALL TO HOLINESS BY

POPE FRANCIS.

70. Luke does not speak of poverty “of spirit” but simply

of those who are “poor” (cf. Lk 6:20). In this way, he too

invites us to live a plain and austere life. He calls us to

share in the life of those most in need, the life lived by the

Apostles, and ultimately to configure ourselves to Jesus

who, though rich, “made himself poor” (2 Cor 8:9).

Being poor of heart: that is holiness.

“Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth”

71. These are strong words in a world that from the

beginning has been a place of conflict, disputes and

enmity on all sides, where we constantly pigeonhole

others on the basis of their ideas, their customs and even

their way of speaking or dressing. Ultimately, it is the

reign of pride and vanity, where each person thinks he or

she has the right to dominate others. Nonetheless,

impossible as it may seem, Jesus proposes a different way

of doing things: the way of meekness. This is what we see

him doing with his disciples. It is what we contemplate on

his entrance to Jerusalem: “Behold, your king is coming

to you, humble, and mounted on a donkey” (Mt 21:5;

Zech 9:9).

70. Lucas no habla de una pobreza «de espíritu» sino de

ser «pobres» a secas (cf. Lc 6,20), y así nos invita

también a una existencia austera y despojada. De ese

modo, nos convoca a compartir la vida de los más

necesitados, la vida que llevaron los Apóstoles, y en

definitiva a configurarnos con Jesús, que «siendo rico se

hizo pobre» (2 Co 8,9). Ser pobre en el corazón, esto es

santidad.

«Felices los mansos, porque heredarán la tierra»

71. Es una expresión fuerte, en este mundo que desde el

inicio es un lugar de enemistad, donde se riñe por

doquier, donde por todos lados hay odio, donde

constantemente clasificamos a los demás por sus ideas,

por sus costumbres, y hasta por su forma de hablar o de

vestir. En definitiva, es el reino del orgullo y de la

vanidad, donde cada uno se cree con el derecho de alzarse

por encima de los otros. Sin embargo, aunque parezca

imposible, Jesús propone otro estilo: la mansedumbre. Es

lo que él practicaba con sus propios discípulos y lo que

contemplamos en su entrada a Jerusalén: «Mira a tu rey,

que viene a ti, humilde, montado en una borrica» (Mt

21,5; cf. Za 9,9).
