Though the winds didn't cooperate for the balloons until the evening the crowds were pleased to see our great Mustang and Fords Show on the grounds. Your Board has met to discuss this year's performance and made recommendations to only im- prove next year. Thankfully we already have a location now for our 39th Round-Up Show to come. Thanks to over a hundred registrants, T-Shirt and Calendar sales and silent auc- tion, the Club will see monies recovered even after roughly a $1300 donation to our desig- nated charity, The Little House. In addition we were able to contribute over $500 to the Gatesway Foundation to further their good works in the community. The show appears to be a win/win event for all involved. Troy will be able to provide details next week. The work and efforts of this Club made all of this possible. Please recognize your Judging Staff for their work on the hot asphalt lot as well. Congratulations to all! We will have the remaining show T- Shirts for sale at the next General Meeting if you missed yours for $15. We have fewer left for sale than we did last year. We also have some months left on the 2017 calendar for 1 each now and thanks to calendar Sponsors Bud Jessee (American National Ins.) and Kevin Keith (Jack Kissee Ford) we have 2018 calendars for the price of 10. These deals are hotter than some of our cars! Coming up we are looking at many events to display our cars: Rt. 66 Cruisers 10th Annul Show at Claremore Lake this weekend. The 14th Annual Mounds Car Show in Mounds on Oct.7th. Career Encounters in Okmulgee on Oct. 10th (a Tuesday) for those who can. The Harlan Ford Show and Shine with our newest and largest sponsor in Okmulgee at the former downtown location in Okmulgee on Saturday Oct. 21st. We need at least 20 or more cars at this event please! On the same day, a show offering a free lunch for bringing a car to the Rt. 66 Pecan and Fun Festival at the Nut House on old 66 towards Claremore. We need many cars to support our new sponsor at Harlan Ford, but if some are close to show at the Nut House it is another option. We'll discuss details at the next General Meeting. John Hemby will have detailed information for these events and more in the Newsletter and he is very good to provide information via E-mail. We will discuss options for the Christmas Party next Tuesday as well and we have some very nice offers. I appreciate all of our Club membership and your help and participation very much. Name Leo Van Delft Email [email protected] Comment We are having a campus wide Career Encounters educational event on Tuesday October 10th at The OSUIT campus in Okmulgee from 9:00 until 1:30. We have around 1600 students coming to visit the campus from High Schools and Career Tech Centers throughout the state and are featur-ing all of our automotive training programs which include Ford, Chrysler, GM, Toyota and ProTech in addition to our collision program. Last year we had two car clubs participate in our car show and shine which added some color to the event. Lunch is provided to the car show participants and this year we will be adding student choice awards for the car show participants. The mustang club has been to our campus before and thought this might be an opportunity to show your cars and tour our programs. Thanks!
