We would like to thank the 15 participants in this years Cook's Toy Corral for helping to make the toy show such a pleasure. We always look forward to seeing old friends, and making new ones. Speaking of old friends, we enjoyed getting to visit with former members David Bringaze, Rick Collins and Larry Linton and many others who dropped by. We were also most appreciative of the excellent location we had this year, and a special thank you goes out to all those who helped put up the Toy Corral. Last, but never lease, we would like to thank Justin Laird for the trophies, and Carolyn Emberton (Justin's Mom) for her help and support. We hope to see you at next year's 35th. show. Sincerely, Jimmy & Dena Cook

1969 Ford Mustang Sport-roof Year: 9 1969 Plant: F Dearborn, MI Body Series: 02 Sport Roof Engine: F 302 2v V8 Unit: ###### ###### Body: 63A Sport Roof, Standard Interior Color: P Winter Blue Metallic Trim: 2B Lt. Blue Vinyl and Lt. Blue Kiwi Vinyl, Standard Interior Date: 13F June 13, 1969 D.S.O: 65 Oklahoma City Axle: 3 2.79:1, Conventional Trans: 1 3-Speed Manual My Dad, Terry Fritz, bought his first new car on June 13th, 1969. Dad was working in Oklahoma City at the time and going to college while Mom was raising me. I was a year old at that time. Dad drove from work to school in Shawnee at Oklahoma Baptist University. After moving back to Tulsa in June of 1970, Dad and Mom moved around Tulsa and Broken Arrow while the car sat and my grandparents’ house in Sand Springs during this time. Time Line: • December 17, 1975 My Grandparents, Norman and Alline Fritz purchased the car for $2700.00

    • April 3, 1979 Accident, Family member drove the car off in a ditch damaging the fenders, grille, hood and blew up the battery. Dad purchased new parts and hood from Fred Jones Ford parts department.

    • 1995 After nursing the car back to life, drove it to broken arrow to put in a storage facility

    • 2007 Moved to another storage facility to do some light work. No work performed except for new tires

    • 2014 Moved to Dad’s garage. Sat and collected more dust. • May 12, 2015 Purchased the car from Dad and brought home. Over the past year, with the help of a good friend, Jeff Donnell, we worked on the drive train. New clutch, pressure plate, u-joints, 2 ½” stainless exhaust, and Front power disc brakes were added. We hand turned the motor with mystery oil and did a top end over haul. New lifters, springs, cam, head-ers, intake manifold, carburetor, and headers were also done. Just about every working part including a new gas tank and lines were removed and replaced with new stuff just to get her running again. Dad wasn’t crazy about not taking care of the body work first, but I was determined to get her ready to drive. The plan is to do the body work after the car is up and running. A good friend, Ray Meyers worked on the rusty fenders and floor pans for me along with fixing the rust in the torque plates under the car. Money well spent. They did a good job and will soon have a lot more work to do. After a new radiator and shroud from Melvin Little at Mustang One, all is sound. My wife Marsha and daughter Lauren call her “Rustang” but she’s getting less rusty all the time. The name sticks because I used to joke with some of my friends about their Fords. I used to be a Camaro guy but learned to love what I was supposed to have the whole time. Dad and Mom took a drive in her the other day. I never saw dad smile so much. They enjoyed the ride.
